teacup is just a term they label the "smallest puppy" in a litter. Since chihuahuas are the smallest breed in the world, everyone wants to have the 'smallest' of the smallest'. Hindi rin kasi madalas lumitaw yung 'teacup' sized (which is about 2 pounds pag full growen vs 4-6pounds) kaya they sell them at an extremely high price.

My coco is already turning 4 years old this October.Up to now I still don't know if he's a teacup but he's really small and cute.Nilagay ko sya sa weighing scale,yung kiluhan mismo ng bigas and he weighs only 1 3/4 kilo.Hehe.

^yung teacup na sinasabi nila i think is the applehead chihuahua. short yung snout nila compared a deer-head. yung sa deer-head kase mas mahaba and mas mahaba yung katawan nila kaysa sa applehead.

teacup are chihuahuas that are under 3 pounds or less. the standard, acceptable weight is 4-6 pounds. most teacup chihuahuas are appleheads with short noses but not necessarily means apple heads lang ang teacups.

my husband's cousin will give us a chihuahua kase dami daw and di na nila maalagaan so papa adopt nila.
prob is meron kaming dog na di namin alam kung ano breed kase bigay lang din sa amin.

totoo ba na chihuahuas hate other breeds?

it's not that they 'hate' other breeds. it has more to do with them being so small, they feel threatened about dogs bigger than they are (which is all other breeds)

it is important that your new chi be introduced right with your current dog. Get them to meet at a neutral ground. A place that your current dog and the new chi doesn't "own". Let them meet, introduce each other BEFORE taking the new dog home.

This will ensure a good way to let the current dog know and likewise, the new chi understand that it's being 'welcomed' into the pack.

I suggest, if possible, is to take both dogs on a short walk separately before having both dogs meet.

ang tagal ko ng gustong magkaroon ng chihuahua. hindi lang lagi natutuloy. this time meron akong nakitang male puppy 7 months old and maganda ang line niya and he's very cute. kaya lang hindi pa ako decided kung male or female kukunin ko yung puppy kasi sa room ko siya mag-iistay eh diba ang mga male na dogs minsan kung magwiwi sila yung tinataas ang isang paa, kasi minamark nila yung territory nila kaya spray sila ng spray ng wiwi nila kung saan-saan unlike female dogs. pero may nabasa din naman ako na mga male dogs na hanggang pag laki nila paupo pa din magwiwi.

yung merong alagang male chihuahua mahirap ba sila sa pagwiwi? paano sila magwiwi paupo or yung nakataas ang isang paa? i need an answer as soon as possible kasi baka mabili na yung pup na gusto ko   TIA!

If the male pup is fixed (neutered) they won't mark around the place. Also getting a chi pup that is paper trained can also be helpful.

yup, may reputation ang chihuahua na "masungit" kasi talagang lahat ng strangers tinatahulan. that's why i'm trying very hard to socialize my 10 week old chihuahua para masanay. hindi pwede ilabas ng bahay dahil natatakot ako baka magkasakit (12 weeks daw ang edad bago pwede paliguan/ilabas kasi yun yung time na well developed na yung immune system nila) kaya nag-iimbita na lang ako ng friends sa bahay. gusto ko ngang dalhin ito sa puppy classes when he's at the right age na para pati dogs eh maging friendly siya.
meron kaming 5 chihuahuas sa pilipinas (owned by my brother) kaya when I decided to get a dog, chihuahua rin ang preferred breed ko. each chihuahua's have their own personality. kakatuwa nga kasi parang tao rin. i'm trying to potty train my Jacob (as in Jacob the werewolf from Twilight) kasi sa Florida kami nakatira kaya ndi ko pinalalabas ng bahay.. gumawa ako ng parang litter box at doon ko pina-poo poo. minsan nga lang sumasablay din. pero medyo nakakabisado ko na ang kanyang pee/poo habits kaya nai-hahabol.
he's super cute. kapag feel kong makipag-laro, nakikipag-laro. pag-inaantok ako at feel ko lang matulog, natutulog din siya. hindi siya umaalis sa tabi ko unlike my brother's chi's na talagang SUPER HYPER kaya ang hirap katabi sa pagtulog.
heto nga siya sa kama ko natutulog. bored na siguro kasi kanina pa ako sa pc. hehe..

yup, yung male puppies they pee like female puppies at first then when they (male chi's) are about 5 months or six that's when they start marking and start peeing w/ their legs up. if you neuter them when they are already peeing with their legs up then wala ka nang magagawa. although they will stop marking you won't be able to stop them from peeing w/ their legs up. so if you neuter them before they hit that age then they'll keep peeing the way female dogs do (by not raising their legs). at least that's what the way i understand it but i may have to do some research first about the exact age or peeing style (legs up or down).

but talk to your vet first kasi may mga chi dogs na hindi nag-fafall yung milk teeth when they are teething (4-5 months also) so they have to be surgically removed. if that's the case with your dog, you may want to wait until the after teething stage so you need to use anesthesia once for both neutering and surgical removal nung milk teeth. you have to be careful w/ anesthesia and small dogs because sometimes they don't wake up. so choose your vet as you would your doctor. dun ka lang sa may experience na nagneuneutur ng small dogs (specially chi's since they're the smallest breed!).
my chi is 2 months old but will be neutured when he's at the right age.

i'm trying to litter box train my chi also (i have videos so if you want to see it let me know!  ) using purina's second nature litter box. mabango [textspeak!] smell nung pellets. nawawala [textspeak!] amoy nung pee/poo.

if you guys have any questions about chihuahuas let me know. i am so obsessed w/ this particular dog breed it's insane! lol

my chihuahua just had a dental last month. they pulled 12 teeth from her. poor little thing. she went on anesthesia while having her dental.

this is how she looked like right after we took her home.
