hi everyone! newbie here.

im a mom of 2, eldest is 6, youngest is 5, am a sales secretary and my husband works as cadd operator.

anybody here na ofw mom? am planning to work abroad kc and am kinda scared to leave my children behind though am sure they will be in good hands with my husband and my mom, its really my dream to work abroad, pero di lang to puro pangarap syempre [textspeak!] ang kagustuhan ko na makatulong sa magulang ko,kapatid ko at syempre sa asawa at anak ko... ska i have a strong feeling n aasenso ako dun...

one more thing that worries me alot is the homesickness kaya ko kya? im decided na kc kaso ayoko pa mamatay nakakamatay ba homesickness? hehe

i am an ofw mom working in SG.. we have 1 son.. we hired a maid from pinas but not through an agency.. the yaya was my husband's brother's kids yaya.. kaya tested na si yaya before we got her here.. i suggest you bring your kids/family along para di ka mahomesick.. para sa isang ina na katulad ko, sobrang hirap na malayo sa kanila.. i do not think i can do that unless i badly and desperately need to..

How iddid u get to SG? madali ba makahanap ng work? Kasi hubby and I are planning to go abroad pero hindi nmin kayang iwan si Aundre (our son). Mashado kaming attached sa isat isa. hehe Can we possible find a job online, then pagpunta nmin dun kasama na kagad si baby?pwede ba yun?

2004 pa ako andito Sa SG sis. Dito na din ako nagka family. Medyo mahirap nga pag from pinas iiwan nyo kids para mag work dito. There's so much sacrifice involved. But if it's any consolation marami kami friends dito na same situation. Iwan muna nila family for a while then kunin nila lag stable na sila. Usually in a year or two nakukuha na nila.

I was offered a job in Singapore. While there, I got reunited with an ex BF (we broke up because of the strains of long distance relationships). Got married in SG. Shortly after, hubby got an offer to work in Germany. We are Permanent Residents in Singapore, EU Residents in Germany, and we hold US Visa (tourists), pwede siguro kami maghanap ng work don and settle there if it's really necessary. Kung magka major problems, we have at least, these 3 options to fall back on.

hi sis yapeegurl! hmmm, how should i explain this.... let's just say, mas mura real estate dito by half. when we left SG in 2007, yun yata peak ng rentals/sales ng condo dyan. as in, namimili kami ni hubby kung magbe-baby kami or bibili ng condo unit. here, one can easily afford a car...audi, bmw, benz (cheapest since factory is here). In SG, parang pangarap na lang yon, plus, sobra din naman efficient transpo system dyan so you don't really need a car. Kaya lang, hubby pays 43% tax. Pero napapakinabangan din naman, as in may monthly allowance ang kids mo until they are 18 years old, sagot ng gov't education ng kids until high school, etc.
Downside lang, sobrang lamig, language barrier so one needs to really learn german, ang layo at ang mahal umuwi sa pinas. but in general, i think it's the best place to raise a family. my hubby is a cardiologist, but he is working as a clinical consultant for a medical equipment headquarters here. in demand din IT dito, so if you or your hubby is in the IT field, you can look into some opportunities here.

^nakaka engganyo naman sis..

oo super mahal ng kotse dito.. around 80k SGD ang Toyota.. and ngayon ang 3 bedroom sa ang mo kio is 2.3k to 2.5k per month ang rent. Maganda pala dyan kasi sagot ang school and meron allowance ang kids. We'll look into it pag malaki laki na si baby. Alagain pa din kasi ngayon.. Thanks for your input ha

sis yapeegurl, nagmura naman na pala renta dyan. HDB ba yan sa AMK or private condo? Dito, we are paying around 2.2K sgd for a 3 BR bungalow with terrace and garden. Meron din yata akong makukuhang Mother allowance, up to 2 years nga lang. Sagot din ng medical insurance lahat ng gastos sa pregnancy, sa baby, even artificial insemination and InVitroFertilization. Pero gusto ko pa rin bumalik sa SG, hehe.

I applied for a tourist visa and was granted a 10yr multiple..

I was chosen to start a new business for our company and did the training abroad.. went to mexico, texas, chicago, LA, india and Kuala Lumpur..

First time ko out of Pinas nung nagpa-training ang Microsoft. We were sent to Brisbane Australia. Hindi ko masyado gusto dun kasi medyo discriminating

@sis batchoy0819 - congrats! sarap ng feeling no? twice ako nagapply sa pinas before, syempre denied. nakakadepres... then i had to apply for a US visa again in SIngapore for work. Nabigyan ako, single entry. I needed to go back to the embassy, para lang magpakita na bumalik ako. Here in germany i applied again using hubbies documents, i was joining him on his business trip. approved agad, 10 years, no questions asked

@sis yapeegurl - wow sarap mo naman. i have not been to australia. gusto ko makapunta someday. dito surprisingly, hindi pa ko nadidiscriminate. sobra silang sensitive and careful dahil sa history nila with hitler : ) so ok di ba? mas nadiscriminate pa nga ako sa SG eh. Sana nga makpag tour ka dito. Abangan mo na lang promo sa singapore airlines. usually may and november meron.

^same tayo sis. Denied US application ko Sa pinas kahit sincere tour Lang ako nun kasi manganganak sister ko. Dito ako SG naapprove. 10yrs multiple din. No show money and Di pa ako permanent resident that time. Nako iipon muna kasi mahal mag tour dyan. Hehe

Ako naman i studied here in Australia... My kuya is a permanent resident here and my parents were green card holders (shempre sa states)... So ayun. And i also got married to an australian citizen.

Wala pa naman akong naexperience na discrimination dito, and if ever i will, sus lahat naman merong discrimination mas lalong lalo na sa pinas.
