Using the husband's surname, will you or will you not?

my passport is hyphenated and so is my cfo certificate, I did not have a problem applying for it naman. Though my phil health is still in my maiden name. San government offices ka ng ka problem sis? So i'll know what i'll be up to.

got married a month ago. I plan to hyphenate my husband's last name when i start fixing gov docs for my name change. But most need the nso marriage contract and that takes longer to get di ba?

Hi sises. I don't plan on giving up my maiden name. Di ko gusto ang surname very tagalog. When I told him that medyo nadisappoint siya. Eh bakit ba hindi naman niya name yun. Sana lang hindi maging problem sa TIN. Pwede naman hindi magpalit sa BIR right kung iba yung name? I just dont like his surname plus the fact na I feel very proud with my career tapos papalitan ko.

NSO depende. It can take up to 6 months pero meron as early as 1-2 months.

It's a matter of preference. Meron naman mga husbands wala pakelam sa surname ng wife kung ano gusto ng babae go lang din sila.
Check those offices for their memos kasi nga iba iba sila ng implementation.
Sa office lang hyphenated surnames ko but everywhere else, I'm using the husband's.

I might use my husband's last name nalang to avoid complications.. hassle eh! haha! Not a big deal naman for us.

got married nov 2014. my passport's due to expire by may. i already used my husband's surname when i applied for renewal last month. i'd prefer hyphenated sana, kaso parehong 7-characters surnames namin kaya masyadong mahaba kung un gagamitin ko, ako din mahihirapan. hehe. passport ko pa lang document na ginamit ko surname nya. hintayin ko na lang muna maging available un nso copy ng marriage certificate namin bago ko update un ibang IDs and credit cards.

Noon excited ako to change my surname to his.... But know now na kasal na kami for 8 years...
Parang mas ok yung surname ko... well i used my surname sa mga business engagement ko online. Pero sa Government documents and all eh surname ng husband ko...

On passport renewal with change name to husband's surname, since matatagalan bago maging available un NSO copy ng marriage certificate namin (married Nov 2014), kumuha ako ng certified true copy ng marriage certificate namin  sa local civil registrar ng city kung san kami kinasal, then pumunta ako sa NSO Pasay to request for authentication of the certified true copies. Got extra copies kasi kukunin ng DFA un original. Tatatakan lang un certified true copies sa NSO. Used 1 copy for passport renewal.

Check NSO's website for the contact number of the NSO Serbilis center nearest you, then call them to confirm if they do authentication. In my case, masyado kasi malayo NSO main, so sa Pasay ako pumunta. It's in Hobbies of Asia along Macapagal Ave. Nakuha ko authenticated copies in around 2 hours.

hello mga Sis! the last time na nag post ako sa FN is about our wedding palang, now eto ule ako, magtatanong po, going 2 yrs na po kaming married ng hubby ko, pero last yr mejo nagkaprob po kami, I know he cheated on me pero ayaw niya aminin and his always saying na hindi niya sinasadya yung mga ginawa niya, pero upto now alam ko may something pa din syang tinatago sakin,
dahil sa mga nangyari nagdisisyon po ako na mag abroad nalang kasi nakakapagod po set up naming mag asawa,

 now ang tanong ko po pede po ba na single ang gamitin kong status ko sa pagkuha ng passport kasi ayoko po gamitin surname niya,?

I'm still using my maiden surname except when transacting with philhealth, sss and pag-ibig.

Im still using m maiden name fo my bank transactions, passports, drivers license etc.

^^No naman.  It's just my choice to avoid questions when transacting with government agencies in the future lalo na at most of their personnel insist that a married person must use her married name especially if you declared that you are married.  Other transactions are still on my maiden name like my credits cards, bank accounts...

2 years na kaming kasal, minsan ko lang ginagamit ang last name nila. I still prefer my lastname.

I haven't updated my status  SSS or PHilhealth. For sure kapag nag update ako still my last name. Why? In extreme case na mag hiwalay kami walang hassle on my part sa issue ng surname

Passport ko lang ang magiging ibang lastname pero yung bank accounts and others hindi ko na inupdate.
