Using the husband's surname, will you or will you not?

I used to think na I wanted mine to be hyphenated pero sobrang haba na ng first name ko so when I tried to imagine, parang mahihirapan din ako ng husto.

So, I will use my husband to be's last name na lang!

In 2 days, iba na surname ko!

ayyy.. not in that aspect though..
pano pag kailangan nyo ni hubby, say, bumili ng house nyo.. or anything that would be conjugal diba?
and besides, nasa NSO na yung marriage ninyo right? so technically, hindi ka na single - yun nga lang, hindi pa nalalakad ang name change.
so in effect, hindi mo na dependents ang parents mo.

ako i'm not using my hubby's surname.  7 years na kaming kasal.  wala namang naging problem.  pagkuha ko ng passport I declared I am married, attached our marriage certificate, but never used his surname. okey naman sa DFA. 

one time lang nung na confine son ko sa Makati Med and I used our company's HMO, na question ako dun sa billing section bakit daw magkaiba kami ng surname ng anak ko.  I just asked them to verify with my company then I presented to them a copy of our marriage cert. and my son's birth cert., okey na.  so yun lang siguro yung hassle.

Yeah, that's posible naman not to use your hubby's last name...
But of course married ang status mo once declared - so if that's the case, I don't know if pwede mo pa ring dependent ang parents mo..

I prefer to hyphenate since mas kilala ang apelyido ko sa place namin & i want to keep it for my father's memory too. besides, di naman nagiging issue sa amin ito ni hubby kasi proud siya sa apelyido ko. As for some personal documents, napa-change ko na yung iba using my husband's surname though others(ex. land ownership) have been retained using my maiden's name since it was bought before we got married.

i agree. gusto ko kasi kapag naging doctor ako, i'll still be using my mom's maiden name and dad's last name. kaya hyphen nalang din ang gagawin ko para walang mawawala. sana lang maintindihan ng magiging asawa ko in the future.^.^

I've been married for three months pa lang and I still use my maiden name...my husband naman doesnt mind at all but I plan to use his last name once my legal IDs and passport expires

at first I use hypen kasi nga ayaw ko mawala yung surname ko at mas kilala ako dun even I changes all my legal docs at married. kaya lang habang tumatagal nahihirapan na din ako mag fill up ng ibang docs kasi ang haba ng surname ni hubby until I decide na yung ibang docs ko surname na ni hubby ang gamit ko pero dun sa iba kong mga sidelines hypen pa din ang gamit ko.

i'm still using my surname.... although sa government transactions sa hubby ko ng surname.... I'm married for almost 2 yrs already...

i attached my husband's surname to my surname dun s mga legal docs ko, like lucy torres-gmoez. pero yung everyday docs, i just use my name and his surname para di mahaba. yung brother in law ko na australian, ginamit nya yung surname ng hipag (kapatid ng asawa ko) which is weird kc usually di ba babae ang naga-adapt ng surname ng lalaki not the other way around?

I attatch it to my maiden last name. I've been known na kasi for my last name. It's kinda confusing sa mga corp emails and work messengers. pero sa mga legal stuff i use his last name. Ok lang naman sa kanya.

ako i'm using my hubby's surname sa mga legal docs... pero sa friendster, ym at kung anik-anik lang, i still use my maiden name... para maging konektado naman ako sa mga old fwends ko kahit thru friendster man lang...

love to use his surname (kahit di kagandahan hehe)..im proud of it. lalo na if ur happliy married parang ang sarap sarap isulat diba..
pero ayoko naman tanggalin ang aking sariling surname hehe. so mega-hyphen na lang

if you are living abroad hirap magpalit ng surname hehe ang daming hassle at daming gastos. so up to now i'm still using my own surname although i have declared my status as married. dito singapore hinde uso i-na-adapt ng babae ang surname ng asawa kasi ang sabi nila nawawalan daw ng identity yong babae kaya hinde nila ginagamit ang surname ni hubby-doo

Ive been married for roughly 2 weeks and im still skeptical whether to use my husband's NAME as my surname or not, You got it right my hubby is indonesian-chinese and he doesnt have a surname and he has an ugly name to begin with Ive asked several lawyers but they're take is better use my husband's name as my surname no hypen or whatever since most governement offices dont even recognize hypenated surname and i want all my legal documents uniformed. I was told that while we can keep our maiden name even after marriage complicated daw yun balak ko sana future kiddos na lang naman gagamit ng name nya as their surname
