Using the husband's surname, will you or will you not?

haha sis natawa naman ako sa comment mo. kami naman ni bf we talk about surnames and i told him ayoko kunin name niya pero we fight over it pero let's see. marriage isn't in the cards yet as of now but i would really like to keep my maiden name kahit mas maganda last name niya sakin (by a long shot if i may add) hehe

i only started to use my husband's surname when i was about to give birth to our first child, a year after we got married.

REASON: gusto ko na magka-apelyido kami ng anak ko.

i really wanted to retain my last name but for consistency purposes, yung kanya na lang. i would forever use it na para di na magulo lalong lalo na sa mga anak ko.

i just imagine getting passports for my babies and claiming that i'm their mom tapos magtatanong ang mga DFA staff bakit di kami magka-apelyido, blah-blah-blah! para wala nang madaming tanong, magpalit na lang.

I know super laking issue sa lalaki pag ayaw kunin nang babae yung surname nila pero kung super baho at pangit naman yung surname sana maintindihan nila. Sorry kung may tamaan, may kilala ako na ang surname e "katakutan, dichupa at magubat" at lahat sila hind nakaligtas na panunukso.

yung sister ko catacutan yung last name ng hubby,pero wala pa naman akong na-encounter na K talaga instead na C..yun yung sinunod nila pati mga kids nila,parang automatic kasi yun sa amin e..

speaking of surname, yung prof ni hubby nung college, "De-regla" ang last name, at lalaki pa!  imagine kung ganon last name ng mapangasawa ko, i'll surely use hypernated...sorry kung me tamaan...

before, i had always thought i would never want to take my future husband's last name. love ko kasi buong pangalan ko and i would want to retain my mom's maiden name (which means "beautiful" in Spanish).

but when my boyfriend started teasing me about becoming Mrs. __ _____, i found myself loving it! niloloko ko pa sya then that that's his mom, pero i felt that the name fits me, that i want to be called that some day.

i think it's legal to retain your surname instead of taking your husband's. nung namention nga lang sa akin ng mom ko ito, hindi na ako as excited to hear such news as i would have been nung single pa ako. ngayon kasi, parang gusto ko na

after I got married siguro mga 6 months lang hyphenated family name ko then ng magkababy na kami surname na ng hubby ko ginagamit ko.
