sis if you're looking for a laptop na ang edge niya is non-overheating or hindi madali mag over heat, i would suggest Asus
I've been using it for hours na pero hindi talaga siya ganun kainit compared sa iba. and meron ata sila labas na bago I think its K series. Yung ice editions nila or something. hehe

tapos tip din pala, better go for a bit bigger laptops kasi yung mga netbooks (small laptops) ang kadalasan nagooverheat since masikip space ng nasa loob.

You can also use a laptop cooler din at the same time.
I use an Asus seashell netbook 10 in pero hands down, approve ako sa non-overheating powers nito

I hope you can share your experience in bringing home a laptop from the US.  I'm eyeing a Toshiba Satellite i5 and am thinking of asking a friend to bring it home (para tipid shipping).  I'm not sure if there will be customs duties to be imposed.  Baka nga nakamura sa unit eh mapamahal naman sa tax.

What my friends did when they bought a laptop from HK was to take them out of the box and hand carry them. 

Suggestions/inputs are welcome.

I think you can do that, wala naman siguro tax pag na hand carry mo yung laptop ... hindi naman galing US yung saken pero nung inuwi ko dito hand carry ko so [textspeak!] akong dineclare and binayaran na tax.


nga pala, Toshiba ko, nag crack na (huhuhuhuhu, bumigay na) and I can't close it kasi nga magbubukas yung part na may crack (along the area where the monitor and the keyboard meets. mga bata kasi dito sa bahay napaka careless kung magbukas ng laptop ko eh, after 4 years nabasag na rin siya huhuhu., and alam ko nadaganan to at nabitawan din nila  sa sahig kaya siguro nag crack... pwede ko pa ba kaya tong ipaayos? yung pinaka case lang naman niya ang prob, performance wise its still very very okay, it's even faster than my bro's HP or dell hehe

Suggest naman kayo ng laptop good for both gaming and graphics/3d rendering. I'm looking at Lenovo Z460 and Acer Timeline X but not sure sino mas okay. Okay din sana yung Acer Iconic kaso gaming ang purpose baka masira yung touch screen.

I would suggest not buying an HP.  Got a call from the computer shop today that my HP Pavilion Dv6, a little over a year old, needs its hard drive replaced. Total cost, about half the original purchase price.  Hopefully it will be okay once they replace the hard drive, if it breaks down again I'm throwing it out.

Ikaw sis, kasi it will depend on your requirements kung san mo man siya parati gagamitin. Im not sure of in what terms the Toshiba edges in pero for me I chose Asus kasi I'm more on stand by mode lang. Kumbaga, internet, typing and researching ang gawa ko. It just so happened na ang Asus is one of those lappies na hindi madaling uminit considering its compact size

^^ not familiar with asus but toshiba is very good. super tibay. i remember getting it because of the recommendation of my ex-BIL 5-6 yrs ago when i asked what's the best brand to get at the time, since that was his field. toshiba daw talaga pinakamahusay eh.

but i also agree with the above post. depends on what you'll use it for. factor din yung madaling uminit nga. yung toshiba, mga 1-2 hrs, mainit na.

Hindi naman ako makabili online/abroad kasi wala namang pauwi dito.
