^sis, tinatakot ka lang nung agent para hindi siya mag-dispatch hehe.
if your laptop has known heat-related issues recognized by the OEM, the components that were affected by the said issue will still be replaced at no cost to you. usually, may replace/return policy ang mga OEM when it comes to known issues.
what you need to know is, ano yung known issue(s) sa laptop mo na recognized ng OEM? if u cant get a straight answer from the tech, search mo sa google. now, if the damage was caused by "negligence"(ngayon ko lang narinig yung ganitong klaseng damage sa laptop), pwedeng lalabas yan, accidental damage. meaning, damage sustained beyond normal computing activities like, nahulog, nabagsak, nabasa, tinamaan ng kidlat, etc. overheating, is NEVER an accidental damage. actually, it should be identified by your OEM as a safety hazard and thus, the equipment should be recalled/replaced/repaired at no cost to you. yan yung tinatawag na product capture due to safety hazard. sa states kasi, pag hindi nila ginawa yan at may nangyari sa customer, pwede sila idemanda ng customer. suggestion ko sis, search the Net and ask HP techs for known issues about your laptop para malaman mo kung entitled ka to their service or not. also, verify the service warranties that came with your laptop, read the fine print.
mabalik tayo sa sunog na mobo. yes, we can tell if the mobo was fried due to sudden power surges or plain overheating. usually pag power surge, may burn marks yan(mejo itim or brown, minsan masyadong maliit to be noticed pero nakikita ng trained na hardware tech) madalas sa mga ports na dinadaanan ng power(AC adapter, LAN, USB, processor/heatsink/fan, P1/P2 connectors, battery, etc. pag overheating, may mga melted capacitors or bulging capacitors(parang lumobo or nag-bubble). search ka na lang for pics sa google sis ha. pasencia na if i cant attach pics here.
