Hello mga sis! May question lang ako....

Nag propose na sa kin BF ko (after 4 years of being together). Ang issue namin, pwede ba kami magpakasal dito sa US on my tourist visa?

Ang dami ko kasi nababasa online na wag magpakasal on tourist visa, apply pa daw ng fiance visa sa pinas. kaso kung fiance visa, you have to get married after 3 months di ba? Eh at least 1 year sana ang gusto ko to plan a wedding (pangarap kong ikasal dito!!!! ) . I can't lock in dates kung unsure ako kung kelan i-grant yung Fiancee Visa.


Pag tinatanong ko naman yung mga friends and family ko dito, sabi nila I should just get married on my tourist visa and then file na lang for green card.

I tried backreading kaso I'm not sure kung appropriate pa? baka iba na laws ngayon? kasi sabi sa ibang website ang law daw ngayon dapat mag file pa ng fiance visa.

Madali sana to if I can consult a lawyer kaso funds are tight right now.

US Immigration frowns upon use of a tourist visa for immigration purposes. Basically they frown on using any type of visa for any intention other than what that visa is intended for.

In your case, if you use a tourist visa in order to get married, you are using your visa beyond what it is intended for.

That said, I got married here while on a student visa. However, when I applied and used my student visa, I was not intending on getting married at all. My then-bf proposed to me while I was a student in the US and then we decided to get married several months later and my visa was still valid at that time. So after getting married, I was able to apply for adjustment of status na. I did not need to go back home.

During our interview I remember that it was one of the questions that was asked of us- when did we plan on getting married. Fortunately, we had planned on getting married nung nandito na ako sa US. I think if we had planned on getting married nung nasa Pinas pa lang ako and the immigration official knew about that, I would've been denied a green card.

^ Thanks for the reply, sis. I'm now considering just getting married civilly or have a very small, intimate church wedding in Manila. Then we'll just renew our vows here! That way I'll just have to file for Spouse Visa.

pano po if patay na yung petitioner and hindi nagamit yung petition before.
kasi yung father ko napetition sya to go to hawaii before kaso hindi sya pumunta.ayos na lahat ng papers nya.then ngayon patay na yung parents nya na nagpetition pwede  ba nya yun magamit?

^ sis, what do you mean? like nainterview na sya or hindi sya nagpainterview? kasi the embassy usually gives a person a time frame to show himself/herself once the priority date becomes current. pag nag lapse na yung deadline, ibibigay na sa iba yung slot nya.

kung nakamatayan naman yung petition, from what i remebered from atty gurfinkel (of Citizen Pinoy ANC), when the petitioner dies, the petition dies with them. not unless kumuha ng co-petitioner yung grandparents mo when they were still alive.

sapat na to na sagot.that means wala na sibli yung petition nya.ito din sinabi nung bestfriend ko sa US na kung patay na yung nagpetition wala na talaga.

pero would it be easy for my dad to have his visa kaya?since he's been once petitioned?

4 US visa photos
Original and Xerox Copies of Appointment Letter
Passports
Medical fee
Black Ballpen
Immunization records (if any, signed by the pedia/dr)

Me and my 2yr old son just finished our 1st day of medical interview/exam yesterday 11August. We arrived at SLEC around 5am, and kokonti pa lang pila, #8&9 yun no. namin..The guard gave me two(2) PDS forms, schedule of activities and an evaluation form..I filled up the form muna while my son and yaya stayed on the car..maaga pa kasi. When I was done, saka ko sila sinundo then upo na kami sa me reception area. They started calling the nos. past 6am ata, a bit earlier than my expected call time which is 7am which is also written on their given schedule..well, mas maganda..make sure you have prepared 4 US visa photos with your full name written at the back..kelangan ready na otherwise patatabihin ka muna to give way dun sa mga ayos na ayos na ang papers...yun sa kin kasi I forgot to write my full name at the back..use normal black pen (not a sign pen) kasi didikit lang yun ink sa picture..beware not to put any ink mark on the photos, otherwise hindi na nila tatanggapin yun..wag nyo na lang pagpatung-patungin yun photos.
after nun, you just need to wait for your names to be called..other steps were written on the paper they gave you kaya mabilis na magfollow..and besides, they are giving you instructions where to go pagkatapos ng isang task...( I also read and read the instructions given by one of our GT sisses here posted at the beginning of this thread. It was helpful)

Anyway, since my kiddo ako, not all naman e ginawa sa kanya, wala syang laboratory and X-ray..he only underwent Tuberculin/Skin Test and Physical exam with Vital signs..Advice lang sa mga may baby/toddler na kasama, bring everything you can para lang hindi sya mainip sa loob. Like yun kiddo ko, sobra likot, gusto na nya umalis ng SLEC..buti na lang lahat ng gusto nya dala ko..Ipod, DVD portable,toycars, food...bawal magdala ng food sa loob by the way, tubig lang pwede at milk (babies)..nagpuslit na lang ako ng maliliit na chips at candies..pati sandwiches, tee hee!..

On Immunization interview naman, the doctor asked me about the immunization I had, if I already had chickenpox and checked if me mga marks ako ng chickenpox. For my kiddo, I have with me his immunization record and the doctor checked it and kung ano ibibgay pa sa kanyang immunizations. You need to photocopy the immunization record for your copy na rin..

We need to go back on Thursday para sa result ng skin test ni kiddo..isabay ko na rin yun result ko plus the immunization..kapag nag negative sa skin test si kiddo, proceed to immunization na sya..

We finished at 10:30am, bilis lang..kasi maaga kami dumating at hindi pa ganun kadami yun tao..I thought aabutin kami maghapon...

Ayun, sana tomorrow okay ang maging results ng medical namin..with Gods help...the tuberculin test would be released at 10:15am, so yun ang sundin namin time.

hi sis! i just got home from St LUkes, nagpositive yun kiddo ko sa Skin/Tuberculin test, as well as yun mga kiddo na kasabayan namin nun 1st day..taka nga ako dahil wala naman namula or abnormality dun sa tinurok sa kanya..halos lahat ata ng mga bata dun e naging positive angresult..anyway, nagchest xray sya, tapos bukas naman ang result..

anyone with the same result?

sana maging okay na lahat..ready na ko for immunization, yun kiddo ko na lang ang hinihintay ko..

F2A category ko, almost 5years din kami naghintay..lapit na pala interview mo..where will you be going?

People who get the BCG vaccine tends to have a positive PPD result. Ganon din ako and I was given offered antibiotics for TB (dito na kasi ako sa US when I was applying for adjustment of status). I declined and we did a chest x-ray instead. Clear naman yung chest x-ray so I guess immigration cleared me.

^cha-cha: congrats sis at okay ka na sa medical mo. don't worry magiging okay din yang sa son mo.  sorry ha di na ko naka-reply noon, medyo naging busy dito sa ofc. dami ganyan cases, yung iba nga nainis bakit di na lang daw diretso x-ray eh dun din pala punta non, eh ang sakit kaya ng skin test na yun.  good luck sa interview nyo, medyo matagal pa naman...pero easy lang yon as long as prepared na lahat ng documents.  just don't forget to bring updated copy of your NBI kung lampas 6 months na. bring pictures, letters and what have you na will help establish relationship sa petitioner. we were very happy kase yung Consul na napuntahan namin eh mabait, sinama ko talaga yun sa prayer ko para ma-ease ang kaba ko during the interview   yung sa anak mo naman since 2 years old lang titignan lang nila face niya para sure na cya nga yung nasa picture.

eto ako ngayon naghahanap naman ng pinakamurang fare papuntang San Diego, California, 5 kasi kaming lahat so kailangan talaga to get the best price

eto nga, kagagaling lang namin ng St.Lukes, awa ng Diyos, okay na lahat, we had 2shots of vaccines on both shoulders..sarap naman ng feeling nun finally e nasa releasing counter na kami and nasa min na yun cds of xray and receipt.

Sept11 ang interview namin, yup, inihanda ko na ngayon pa lang yun mga need ko docs, letters, cards, remittances, pictures..etc..one more step to go..prayers pa rin..

San diego ba kayo sis? whole family pala kayo? I will be going in Oceanside CA, malapit sa San Diego na yun..hope to meet you there. Sa PAL magkano na ba ngayon?

^ you mean id pictures?  no need na sis. di ba hiningan naman tayo sa ST. Luke's ng 2 pics dun sa releasing, yun na yon

@ cha-cha 3 weeks inabot yung Visa namin kasi meron pa akong additional document na inihabol mula sa St. Luke's, yung vaccination record ko, kc di pa ko binakunahan nung medical ko at pinaghintay pa na magka-monthly period ako bec. possible daw na preggy dahil me contact sa mister    pero in-allow nila na ma-interview na .. to follow na lang yung record.  pero kung wala naman ganun, 4 days lang ang earliest kung sa metro manila, although nakalagay dun sa site eh 7-10 days.  yung sa brother ko ganun ang nangyari, 4 days after lang na-receive na nila.

talaga, lapit ka san diego. sige usap na lang tayo ulit dito sa GT para magkita tayo if ever.  when ba balak nyo umalis? kami sa september 26

eto, nakapagpa-quote na ko. Cathay Pacific and Northwest Airlines ang meron hanggang San Diego. Di ako na-quote ng PAL, wala sigurong connecting flight from LA to San Diego or baka mahal. sabi ko kase yung 3 cheapest

yup, 30mins lang ata from my hubbys place to San Diego,we can surely meet..we plan to depart on Oct2 if God allows, kung wala maging problem..PAL sila ng family nya tuwing umuuwi dito Pinas, kasi direct flight na..di ba LAX din ang POE mo? me direct flight din ba ang Cathay at Northwest?
