Going to the US: I-130 Petition (Spouse/Immediate Relative)-Part 2

Mga sis, nag-inquire ako sa The Messersmith Law Firm, P.C. about sa pag-petition ko sa hubby ko. They quoted me $2500 for the legal fees and it will take 6-7 mths daw to process the spouse visa. Is this a reasonable amount? May nakapag-try na ba mag-hire ng Immigration lawyer sainyo and mas napabilis ba ang process?

sis, sabi ng hubby ko (American Citizen din) yung mga friends nya sa US na nag petition ng immediate relative eh less than one yr lang andun na, talaga daw mabilis na lang ngayon kung walang problem w/your documents/requirements...if you will follow the procedure/requirements ng maayos siguro no need
na to hire a lawyer...ako din i'm on petition, kami ng baby ko & we're positive na w/in this yr makakaalis na din kami:)

sis ano ba status mo? Are you a US citizen or Legal Permanent Resident (LPR)?
Kasi kung USCitizen ka, less than a year lang talaga ang pagprocess.Kung LPR ka naman, it will take about 5years..so kung LPR ka at ganun ang processing fee with that charge, okay na yun..worth spending naman kesa maghintay ng 5years..pero as far as I know, wala pa ko naririnig na pede mapabilis ang pagprocess kapag LPR nagpetition sa spouse..im not really sure ha?

mga sis pa advise naman...my bf just received his letter from the national visa center sa US and it says there no visa numbers available yet for his us...what does that mean?  His category is F2B and priority date is 2005...medyo confusing lang...gaano pa ba talaga katagal mag-aantay si bf for his petition?...sabi sa isang isang letter approved...pero pagdating nung isang letter...may delay daw...kelan kaya siya makaka-alis?  please please please...i need your replies...we don't know kasi if we need to get a lawyer and if that would help...tia!

sis, the petition was approved, it means, nasa records na sya ng NVC..pero yun visa, not available at the moment..in fact, when you look at the visa bulletin for May, 01Feb98 pa ang pinaprocess na visa under F2B category. so kung 2005 pa ang priority date ni bf, your bf would still have to wait for about 7years..ganyan din ang case ni sis ko, same priority date, kaya medyo alanganin pa rin..e syempre, she's old na by that time..e she should be married by now. e magkakaron ng conflict yun since F2B is for unmarried sons/daughter age 21yrs and older...

mga sis, regarding US visa photographs..kelangan ba hindi nakasmile? kasi wala naman sa instructions na hindi dapat nakasmile e...yun pix ko kasi na gusto isubmit e nakasmile ako, since available naman lagi ang 2x2 ko...yun sa baby ko  (2.5yrs old), mejo nakita yun ipin nya, pero konti lang..

im willing naman to have another visa picture shot, wala lang, ask ko lang if anyone of you have tried submitting this kind of photo.tia!

I'm an American citizen sis. kaso wala talaga ko alam sa mga pag-process na yan. Chaka naisip ko kase baka mas lalong mapabilis pag lawyer. So mga less than a year magigng ok na?

Thanks for the link sis. Kung pwede naman kase na hinde na mag-hire ng lawyer mas gusto ko talaga yon kase hinde naman napipitas ang $2500 diba hehe. Yon din sabe ng hubby ko. Eh yung father nya mejo pakelamero, sabe dapat daw mag-hire talaga ng lawyer kase pag may work daw ako hinde ko maasikaso yon. Eh kung sya ba magha-hire ng immigration lawyer at magbabayad ehdi  go lang. Akala nya siguro parang naga-apply lang ng passport yon.

sisses, ask ko lang, Im under I-140 immigrant petition by an employer.. i can take my husband with me the moment i get my visa na. problem ko ngayon, hubby has multiple entry tourist visa valid until 2018. if i include him ba in the process ( we just got married last month), madedeactivate yung tourist visa nya?

sabi ng agency ko, i can just add him up even upto to the moment of my interview,, i just have to present a marriage cert. kaso i want to make sure na kasama na sya kasi ayokong magka problem ng biglaan. baka dun pa kame sumabit, maiwan ko sya dito..   

what do you think? ok lang kaya na isama ko na sya sa paper works ngayon? or wag na muna?

Hi sis, my fiance (who is a US citizen) filed a I129F, Petition for Fiance and he got the first notice (NOA1) last December 10, 2008. Up to now wala parin yung 2nd notice. Delayed na ba yung pag process? Or tama lang yung time line? The case is at the California Service Center. Mas matagal ba mag-process dun? Do you think the petition will be done with in this year? I don't know if I'm just being impatient but I hope you can give me some encouragement. Thank you in advance!

It says there 6months. So does the 6months count starts when the second notice arrives? Thanks

^Pag nagfile ba ko ng petition for my hubby does he have to wait for a visa to be availale for him as well?

^it depends on your status sis. if you are:
US citizen -  no need to wait for the visa to become available..it would take a bout 6-12 months processing
LPR (green card holder) - about 5yrs of waiting. he'll have to wait for the visa to become available

how will i know if my case is complete na..ive already mailed my DS230 packet last 07May. how long ang waiting period before I could see that the case is complete

bakit ganun kaya? nai-mail ko na thru LBC ang Ds230 namin at mga req'ts nun 07May, then may dumating na email from NVC na wala pa daw sila natatanggap at parang missing documents pa..i inquired thru LBC at natrace naman nila na nareceive na yun documents na pinadala ko..my hubby's been always inquiring thru NVC cust service, and lagi sagot daw ng machine e wala pa din daw nga natatanggap..someone said na baka false RFE yun nareceive ko na email...hintayin ko na lang daw...me nakaexperience na ba sa inyo ng same experience? hindi ko naman pede resend yun dahil baka lalo gumulo...tiA!

anyone here processing their K1 visa or is done processing their K1 visa? i'm currently processing mine and will have my interview on June 17. I hope someone can share their experience and maybe can give me advice/tips also. Thank you!
