Australia, any input?

just got back from my 16 days vacation (syndey & new zealand). in sydney we stayed in Four Points by Sheraton in Darling Harbour. I super love the hotel. Really really clean, smells good and great location. Just just walked the whole time. We went on a day trip to Blue Mountains. It costs us about $60 for a whole day tour. So far, i love Sydney.

Hi!  I posted my question sa ibang forum.  However, no one answered me. Hope someone can answer my question.

What are my chances of getting an approved tourist visa?

I'll be going with my parents in OZ to attend the church wedding of my sister. I'll be with my hubby, mom, dad and 2 siblings, A & B. Mom and sibling A has been in the OZ many times. Dad has never been in Australia but has visited the US already. Sibling B has never been in Australia but works in the US and will get her citizenship this Sept. My sister who is about to get married has been in OZ for 8 years.

Hubby and I had a business which was closed just last month :-( I own a car, has credit cards, but has only 200k savings. I am 28 years old with no child yet. We have visited visa free countries. But the thing is, hubby and I will be considered as unemployed.

Baka naman sa application, kami lang magiging kawawa? :-(

Please help.

^ sis I think it'll be easier if you declare that your trip will be sponsored by your sister who lives in OZ?

^correct.. i've been there 3x, tourist visa. my sister always sponsors us. ask for an invitation letter from them, then your sister can say that she will be the one to sponsor you during your stay. in that case, you dont have to worry about your savings account, car, etc.

Do  NOT   declare you closed shop already.  They aren't gonna dig that far.

If you closed shop only last month.. then last Jan you still got your Mayor's Permit?  Use that and your DTI/SEC registration.  And your business tax returns filed this year for last year's operations.   
So who is to say you have closed shop?     As far as the story goes, you are still in business
 
When you file your application --  what they look at are the ins and  outs of your funds... that there is regularity.  Hindi iyong wow, overnight or recently nagkaroon ka nang P10mio in your account.  That isn't gonna do it for you.

Just because you have only P200thou -- they aren't gonna deny you a visa based on that.
Being business owners,  they will just think your funds are tied up in inventories or receivables at the moment.   

Do not be apprehensive  that the fact you have no children will work against you or makes you a suspect TNT.  Eh kaya nga you can afford the time and expense  of travel kasi nga wala kang dependents. 

Be confident. Just fix your docs in an orderly manner... "Pass your papers" lang sa embassy na yan eh,  they don't want to talk to you nor see your face.  That for me, is the best way to apply for a visa.   


ooopz, I want to correct myself.  The best way to apply for a visa is that done with the Chinese Embassy.  Basta application form lang, and pay up the visa fee cost... they do not care  to know anything else.  hehe

In applying for a skilled independent migrant visa, would you rather apply directly sa embassy or seek the help of a migration lawyer/agency?

Background:  We are engineers here in the Phils with no relatives in Australia.  Wanted sana to save some money where possible para we have pocket money pang simula sa Oz.

btw, ano bang weather dun kapag april? does someone here know how much a nanny's salary should be in AUSTRALIA? I'm fixing our nanny's visa kasi and kelangan ko gumawa ng affidavit of support.

The Affidavit of Support doesn't care how much you pay your nanny.
It is to put down on paper your commitment to shoulder all expenses  of your nanny, including medical expenses if she gets sick there while travelling with you.

sis im a student at that time.. but my brother, who's with me, was working naman, volunteer nurse lang siya that time ha, to think malaking chance na mag-TNT  but still we both got a tourist visa.

tama si sis aquacharly, "pass your papers" lang naman yan  , as long as your documents are complete, you're good to go.

for those who has migrated to australia: paano nyo pinadala yung mga things nyo to aus ? di ba 23 kilos lang ang allowed baggage weight s PAL.  better ba na magpacharge na lang ako sa PAL ng excess baggage or parang balikbayan boxes na lang? If through balikbayan boxes, anung courier/padala service ang ginamit nyo?

prices in some states are higher than melbourne or sydney. but generally more expensive than manila prices. If you want to literally shop. go to Hong Kong or Thailand or maybe Singapore. Australia is more on the beauty of the land.

may invitation ako from a friend to go to OZ. im planning to stay there for 60days. isip ko lang kung pwede kaya akong mag work kahit tourist? sa sydney sila.. sabi niya kasi hindi daw allowed mag work ang tourist thats impossible daw? is it true?
