^ Sounds good. :)

When I started, I think my breaks were longer than my actual workouts. :D Nakakapagod talaga mag-jump rope

^ Ok rin yung jumping jacks. When I did them in between jump rope, I found them even more challenging. :D

I'm the worst-coordinated person in the world, but I was able to pick up jump rope with enough patience and practice. Now, I can even cross my arms alternately, while jumping. I need to learn new tricks so that my jump rope workouts aren't boring :)

nagjump rope ulit ako kanina after more than a month of not using it. I did it for 50 minutes and felt good afterwards..

^ Thanks. :) Honestly, I only started exercising because I wanted to keep eating full meals. :D

I'm only dabbling into running these days, because I don't want to fall into a plateau with jumping rope—but I still feel it's the best and quickest cardio exercise for weight loss.

I started jumping last night. I only got to 500 counts until I couldn't do it anymore. But tonight my ankles huuurrt T_T

sis V, thanks for the enlightening statement. I need to lose 15lbs but I really don't want to starve myself again (food is too good!)  :P

BTW, how do you jump? with 2 feet, or 1, or alternate? I think my ankles hurt coz I used 2 feet for the whole 500 counts (with breaks pala to) eek.

^ That's fine. You can really only do a few hundred when you start out. Even I went through that. :)

I mix it up. I typically warm up with skips/shuffles, alternating between leading with the right and left foot every 100 counts. I've learned that warming up sufficiently prevents those pesky side stitches.

Then when I need to bring up the intensity, I jump (both feet simultaneously landing, then in the air) for 100 or 200 counts, depending on how lazy I am that day. :P

I also sometimes do the one-footed jumps, alternating between each foot for every jump, and I can criss-cross my arms with each jump.

Right now, I need new tricks. I'm working on swinging the rope twice under my feet for every jump, like Pacquiao. :P

Hello Ladies...

I'm Marco, and I've been looking for a good and decent jump rope over the net until I saw this thread, which has a nice discussion about jump rope with helpful links and videos as well.

But first thing's first.. I've noticed that this an all female community, so can I join the discussions here? I'm a "He" by the way.

And I just wanna ask kung saan puwedeng makabili ng good quality jump rope, like 'yung kasing-ganda ng quality na ginagamit ng mga boxers which is weighted 'yung ropes. I've read in the previous pages na meron sa Japan Home but I went there last night (2 branches) wala na daw sila.  I've searched on different sports shops in the malls but all they've got is the light ropes or speed ropes.

Hope someone here could help me out. Thanks in advance.

God Bless.

:)

Hi V_for_Victoria, :)

'Yung sa'yo ba as in rubber talaga na mabigat?

I'll post my rope if I have time..

@MindPower

This is the rope that I'm using:

But I also bought this recently, Nike Speed Rope:

I'm a bit disappointed sa Nike kasi hindi 'yung quality na ine-expect ko since this cost a lot than the blue one but all in all, ok naman..

Thanks to this thread, unti-unti ng nababawasan beer belly ko, hehe..  ;-)

@ mikerz: Yeah, I think mindpower and I use the same material. I think it's PVC.

I actually prefer yung mabigat, as opposed to magaan. Kanya-kanyang preference lang naman. I think I saw a leather jump rope in the US, but it's too light for me.

i bought mine at a toy section (sa may grand central monumento)..actually prior to that may binili na rin ako sa may trinoma sa tabi ng mcdo sa taas ( i forgot the name ) yung rope siya and find it super hard to use kasi super need ko talaga siya ihampas para lang makapag jump rope ako..like what ive said sa prev post ko na mas napapagod akong mag ikot kesa tumalon..mine is like electrical cords, it cost 120 ata at magaan..di kasi ako fan ng branded :D same purpose din naman..last year ko pa siya binili until now buhay pa..meron pa nga yung may counter pero almost nasa 300 na eh hindi rin naman siya accurate..

right now hapon na ako nag jujump rope kasi mas mainit sa hapon so sumasabay ako sa init para mabilis ako pag papawisan..sa gabi kasi napapansin ko na it will took me 150 jumps in order to start sweating..

have fun jumping mga bro & sisses..malapit na mag summer so let start working for our bikini bodies... ;D
