i can testify that this exercise is indeed effective. i lost a lot of pounds though i can only make 400 counts twice a week.

however an officemate told me its disadvantage, nakakapanget daw ng behind. babagsak daw. is this just a myth?

yay... if nakakabagsak sya ng behind parang ayaw ko ng ituloy. dapat maging firm lang sya hindi mag sag.

It really depends on your body's predisposition to burn fat. Been jumping rope for nearly 3 years now, to the point I can do 2,400 skips 4x a week. I pretty much lost my behind from jumping rope.
To firm it up, complement it with targeted strength exercises, such as squats.

i use to do this when i was a little girl...:) and i think we can also learn from the little girls na nagjujump rope para less sakit sa leg muscles..alternate say after 10 double leg jumps, skip na naman...para less yon muscle fatigue..for me this helps aside sa fact that we really need to do so warm up stretching.

^^ Yup! True! :D

My friends who try to start jumping rope get horrible side stitches early if they try to overdo it. ;)

I start skipping slowly to warm up. Then, when I pant slightly, that's when I can turn up the speed and intensity.

^^ Try the jumps to start first, sis, just so you can get used to the rhythm. They're easier than skips—at least that's how I first learned how to jump rope. Start with the rope behind you, kahit slowly at first, then bring it towards the front. :)

^^ The jump rope I use now has a counter. I bought it at Chris Sports at Market Market for 300 pesos. I don't actually use the counter because I've adjusted the rope for length. I just count in my head.

i know someone na sobrang laki ng pinayat because of jumping rope..i tried this too..pero sakit sa boobs..
And that's why I always wear a sports bra. :D I buy a Nike sports bra whenever I find one in a cute style and color.
