I'm an anti-divorce,para kasing magiging habit na lang ito ng may pera...
But on the other hand,I agree na nasa tao ang kahihinatnan ng pagsasama,

How is it only for the rich? You don't necessarily need lawyers to file for divorce. Divorce kits are available and you can do it yourselves. Even the Bible allow it on certain conditions so why limit your options especially when there is philandering?

Some people are afraid na mawawalan ng saysay ang marriage. Hindi naman. Hindi naman ganun kadali mag-divorce e. Madaming mga psychological consults and requirements. Parang mas madali pa nga magpa-annul.

For some people, wala naman talaga syang saysay. For some meron, just meet someone na pinapahalagahan ang marriage.

The problem is not really if we are going to allow divorce in the Philippines or not. The problem is that a lot of couples are not really ready to get married and they still do.

^ True.

And for those people who are afraid that marriage will lose its meaning... well, no.

Marriage will always mean something if you believe in it.

And those naman who don't think marriage means something don't get married anyway.

kaya ako pro divorce kasi madami naman kasi nagkakamali ng pinakasalan, and then people finally found someone they want to be together forever pero hindi makapag pakasal dahil walang pang annulment, kaya yung iba bigamus marriage.

^ i agree with you there sis.  some marry because of some issues (like nabuntis yong girl) pero they are just together because of the child.  i know a lot of friends with this issue.  yong iba nga me kanya kanya ng bf/gf silang pareho na mag-asawa pero they are friends.  e mga bata ngayon open minded na, sinabi nga nong inaanak ko don sa mommy nya bat di pa daw sila mag-divorce ni daddy niya kung di naman na nila love isat isa.

i'm pro-divorce, if only to protect the rights of women.  at least kapag divorce, may alimony et al, at protektado pa rin pati rights ng mga anak.

^Exactly!  Personally, yan din lang yung major reason ko for being pro-divorce.  Kasi sa annulment, lumalabas there was never a marriage so lalabas din parang illigitimate yung mga bata.  Medyo complicated, wala pa diyan yung properties and financial support.
Let's not be hypocrites, ang dami ng hiwalay dito sa atin and bumubuo na ulit ng 2nd family, so instead of creating more illigitimate children why not just make everything legal and ika nga nasa lugar.

i had the chance to talk with an authority on canon law ... sabi niya --

i am really dismayed with what's happening to marriage couples ... ako ang nagbabasbas para sa kanilang magandang pagsasama, pero dumarating ang panahon na ako din pala ang magiging instrumento para maghiwalay sila. sobrang sakit sa ulo ito.

as i understood, ini-a-apela din ang mga marriages na ito sa Vatican. not just in our laws, pero pati din sa Vatican.

ProDivorce ako. But within certain reason and parameters like domestic violence, psychological abuse etc.

I'm pro divorce, this should give unhappy married couples the option that they need if they want out of the relationship, for those na anti and doesn't believe in this, kahit approve na ang divorce, hinde naman kayo pipilitin na mag pa divorce if the marriage is failing, this shouldn't affect your happy marriages. If counseling works for you then congratulations, but marriage doesn't work for everybody, counseling doesn't work for everyone. Ano magagawa ng counseling if your partner for example still cheats/beats the hell out of you and if the trust and love is not there anymore, are you just going to live the rest of your life miserably next to a person who is only a husband/wife on papers? This is exactly the scenario that I don't want to happen to me, I'm not married, but I'm speaking in behalf of the experiences of my Mom, mga tita, a few friends who are now separated but are legally tied to their husbands hindering them from making decisions without the husbands consents on the legal stuff (like you're afraid to buy a property or make any investment kasi the husband might find out about it and pagkakitaan pa etc)

sana maging legal ang divorce so couples have a choice, if they can't stand each other at least they can get their freedom back and re-marry. saka protected ang rights ng children. i like it

Yes, it can lose its meaning, sa news pa lang alam na. Kasal dito, kasal diyan, divorce dito, divorce diyan. If magkaron man ng divorce dito sana hindi mangyari yan dito.

^Maybe it's different in Canada but NO, hindi sila nagpapakasal ng basta-basta at magdi-divorce lang. Like I said, filing for divorce is not like enrolling in school. It's mentally, physicall, and emotionally exhausting. A lot of people are divorcing as really the last resort. But after all is said and done, it's better to still have a choice in the end rather than get stuck with a situation.

I'm in favor of divorce here in our country. But will it be legalized anytime soon? Eh hanggang ngayon pinagde-debatihan pa natin ang use of condoms and contraception. Basta for me, it's better to be happy apart than to be miserable together. Can you imagine being stuck in a loveless marriage all your life? It's like getting a life imprisonment sentence. :(
