I'd say YES for Divorce...

People usually get married bec. of love but sometimes, it doesnt work out and commit more sins than they should (infidelity, emotional abuse, physical violence et al)

I beg to disagree when people say  that in the U.S., people just divorce without working things out..Of course they do, who wouldnt if you love the person you married.

They seem more liberated than us, probably in some ways, but the way I see it mas malakas ang loob gumawa ng kalokohan ang married pinoy...This is based on my observation

i'd go for divorce ...

why suffer, i.e., emotionally, physically, verbally, financially when the relationship isn't working anymore?

its true na apektado ang mga kids, but time will come they would understand the situation -- kesa naman nakikita nila araw-araw ang paghihirap ng kalooban mo, yung pag-aaway ninyong mag-asawa, worst yung may violence na.

i totally agree on this one.  mas marami nagkakasala because an unhappy married person looking for happiness outside marriage is a sin na.  tapos, the two of you will just be living together 'for the sake of' so many things, thus sacrificing your own happiness.  madami na ko kilala na they are both just living together in a very civil way kasi nga di na nila maworkout yong relationship nila as mag-asawa.  naiipit tuloy mga anak kasi nga wala na yong sense of a family sa bahay.

I agree to DIVORCE. I know some na naghihiwalay na lang and bumubuo ng sariling family, without legalizing the separation because of all the hassle.

kaya madaming nagsasama na lang or live in because annulment lang way natin to get out of a marriage na hindi na ngwowork out.

THose who are anti-divorce are either:

1. Men who enjoy having the best of both worlds: a martyr wife and a whole family, and stupid queridas.

2. Idealistic people who think that they could never go wrong in choosing their spouses.  Pero pustahan, the minute na maging battered wife sila or maging habitual cheater ang asawa nila at wala silang pera for annulment, magiging pro-divorce sila.

^ pano natatakot mga pulitiko na suwayin mga religious sects kasi alam nila mawawalan sila ng mga supporters if the religious leaders has something bad to say to them.

Im pro divorce... yes, we live in a conservative country. Pero the Catholic church should open their eyes on reality. Madaming couples ang nag hihiwalay, and nag kakaroon ng ibang family ulit. Legality na lang ang kulang. Sana nga ma approve dito yan, but I doubt it.

fab_femme, even the husband is beating his wife, she will not find a way out? Sino ang kawawa ang wife or the future generation? What if she will get killed?

Oo nga. Case to case basis din. Kapag buhay na ang nakasalalay, pati mga churches ina-advise na rin sa wife na mag detach na muna from the husband. In the first place, sino ba ayaw mag work ang marriage? Pero kung nasasaktan ka na at nanganganib ang buhay, it's not wise to stay. Kelangan yang mga ganyang incident, i-report. Hindi yan dapat tino-tolerate.
