i think its a "Yes" for me. i heard a lot stories na it's better to have a divorce, pero of course isang malaking discussion yan, iba kasi ang culture sa 'tin eh, but i think we need to be more realistic now.

a big "YES" for me...
its very easy for anyone to say "stay in the marriage"
but when the woman is battered, the husband is a lazy gold digger, and an irresponsible father...
i think its a whole different story altogether.

some people can say " you should have thought about it before you got married to him"...
and i reckon most women will agree...
some of them turn to devils the moment you marry them...

so there.

@provenance1800: i agree with you. of course if they'll agree to have a divorce here, they'll have some sort of rules and factors.

divorce would be of help to couples na hindi na talaga maayos ang married life, it would be better na mag-divorce na lang kaysa naman magkaroon ng illicit relationship, to both parties, magkaroon ng sakitan na kung minsan nadadamay pa ang mga kids, etc.

sassyrosel, its not because we are in a sagrado katoliko country, because rome and vatican is but there's divorce in that country. also, not all pinoys are catholics. the reason is because we are in a country wherein there is no separation between the state and the church. san ka naman nakakita ng election tapos nililigawan mga religious leaders? =)

It's a big NO!

God is against it. Kaya ganito ngayon ang mundo magulo kasi kulang tayo sa knowledge about the Word of God!

God Bless Us All!

Bakit, nakausap mo na ba si God??

^Sis, that would start a fight lang.  She might say YES through the Bible, etc.

I am a Christian who has just started reading the Bible regularly.  But I am FOR divorce.

i think ok lang yun. it doesnt mean may divorce sa pilipinas eh lahat na ng married couples mag di-divorce di naman ganun. we are just going to make the lives of the battered wives, and poor kids easier by speeding up the process.  kasi come to think of it, annulment would make  it appear as if the marriage did not happen.. eh hello may mga pictures pa kayo ng kasal.. may video pa at anjan ang gown. hehe

the thing is and kidding aside, pag may pera madaling ma annull ang marriage... fact yan!!

why not make it fair sa lahat even to those na nagsa-suffer na ng matagal tapos walang pambayad for annullmet...

i'm happily married to my husband but in my opinion and if in the long run both of us will have to face the thing called "DIVORCE", it's a YES. couples got married for one reason...LOVE but if that two person who became one in front of God (under any religion) but for some reasons they could not patched things up and had fallen out of love, trust and respect i still agree that they should quit on their marriage. God has given us a partner for us to love and be loved in return not the other way around and so I think hanging on with your unhappy married life will hurt both couples even more, especially their children.

Just a reference po:

“GOD hates divorcing.”—Mal. 2:15, 16.

God hates divorcing, because marriage is His arrangement. But hating divorce may not mean for us that we stick with our spouse kahit may iba ng pamilya.

The Bible also stated that you could divorce on ONE and ONLY ONE ground which is Adultery or sexual infidelity. (Matthew 5:32)

But in cases na the sinner, is repentant, remorseful, will do what it takes to repair the relationship, hindi na uulit,  the direction is forgiveness, that would please Jehovah God (since ayaw niyang may nasisirang marriage) and eventually, blessings to the renewed couple, stronger relationship, etc...  pero it's still up to the offended party kung ano ang decision niya. God will not take it against him/her if nangaliwa asawa niya and he/she decides to divorce him kahit na sobrang nagsisisi.

Legally, I agree that "divorce" should be legalized sa Pilipinas.

Divorce should be an option for marriages which are not working well at all. This should be the last resort, but it should be out there for couples to consider esp. when the situation calls for it na.

Maganda sana ang intensiyon ng divorce kaya lang ang nakakatakot kasi, baka maging tulad sa US na maghihiwalay na lang without trying to work things out.
