when i was younger and doesnt know any better, when i was very idealistic, i never even batted an eyelash when i say No to divorce. well, not anymore.

there are far more benefits of getting divorced than staying in a marriage that is doomed.

I agree, it should be legalized. But then it has to have strict terms on how and why couple have to avail one.

It should be legalized but with strict measures. Like, dapat mag extensive counseling muna ang couples before they divorce, may limit na up to two divorces per person, and may reason na legitimate as defined by law (if such a law will be drafted here).

It's about time divorce should be legalized in the Phil. It is a sad reality that there are already a lot of broken marriages in the country. And there are also those that are trying to stay in a marriage because they don't have the means to get out of a broken vows legally.  I don't think this will be subject to abuse.. No couple at the start of their marriage ever think of separation. Who wants a broken marriage esp if there are kids to consider? With divorce, they can have option.. And a chance to be happy again without being condemned by the society. .

I am for legalization of divorce, but it only should be granted under stringent guidelines.  The reasons for granting the divorce should be well defined.

There are marriages kasi that cannot be saved and it is the woman who is more disadvantaged than the male.

Divorce won't be very helpful to the society. Parang hindi na kasi natin binibigyan ng oppurtunity yung couple to work things things out... Baka since legal na ang divorce sa bansa natin, sige sige nalang ang public sa pagpapakasal kasi they already have the choice to end their marriage once hindi na sila masaya dun...

^ pero sis, di ba, what if both parties are really trying to sort out their differences but to no avail?  their happiness are just in stake here esp. if there are children involved.  matatalino na mga bata ngayon and some are even willing na magseparate na lang parents nila then see them both na nagaaway lage or whatever...pov lang po.  kaya nga when this is legalized, dapat talaga proper guidelines should be set.

Should be legalized.

I think nasa tao naman yun kung gusto nila magdivorce (if ever na magkaroon dito) or i-work out yun relationship nila.

It should be legalized.

^pati pala Vatican may divorce...

kasi naman kahit may divorce pa, choice naman ng magasawa yan if they want to stay and work out their marriage o maghiwalay pa...

Ako din im for the legalization of divorce sa Pinas.

Pero medyo nalito ako dun sa advancing for divorce to be adopted here but with "stringent measures". If we legalize but observe strict standards/grounds for it, wouldnt we be having just another annulment? practically pareho lang ang legal effects ng annulment, declaration of nullity and absolute divorce (as opposed to relative divorce which is just legal separation here, iniba lang ang term). Yun lang, mas mahirap magpa-annul kesa mag-obtain ng decree of divorce.  The State is very strict on annulment cases kasi (dito sa pinas), the State's main concern is to preserve the marriage as much as possible. Kaya burden of proof (at talagang mabigat ang burden hehe) is on the petitioner to prove that the marriage is futile and should be disolved.

I am speaking as a non-married person.  I think it SHOULD be legalized.  But as I will be married next year - parang umiiba na yung view ko..

Kasi parang.. nag vow pa kayo ng 'till death do us part' tapos hindi rin pala susundin..

But in fairness.  If you're being abused.. GO!!!  Divorce should be an option.

May guidelines dapat.
