I used to use avg, but it began to feel a little bloated.   Currently using avira.

bakit ganun kapag nag da-download ako ng anti-virus, nag clo-close ng kusa yung browser? norton dati yung gamit ko kaso nag expire na kaya try naman ako ng iba kaso di ako makapag download

maganda ba ang symantec anti virus program 10.1.6.600? kasi yun ngayon ang naka install sa laptop ko... atsaka yung norton internet security 2008.. naka 90-days free yung norton internet security will see if i buy this AV...

but symantec is good. even though they come from the same company.

i dont see anything wrong with Norton, except of course, it being a resource-hog. And it does a good job protecting computers from malware.

did u have any bad experience with it?

i have not yet experience anything bad using the SAV and norton internet security...just asking if they are ok.. although i might buy the norton internet security just to be sure.. still have 90-days to test it before i decide..the reason why im using SAV is because our company is using this so i might as well use it besides kapersky any other AV that is good out there..dont like AVG.. not working well with our desktop....

you're good with NAV or NIS, bro. just make sure that the PC you're installing it on has at least 1GB of RAM(2GB if you're using Vista). as i said, symantec/norton products are known to be resource-hogs.

yup im using 2GB RAM vista home basic OS.. but i have a problem. we use hijackthis and remove somethings so that when my laptop starts up it would be fast. however the problem is the SAV and NAV is no longer seen at the system tray.. i have to manually start it up so i could see it on the system tray... i tried to enable during startup (SAV and NAV)still im not able to see the icons on the system tray. does it mean that they are not working in the background or do they still run even if i dont see their icon on the system tray

i've been using norton products since 2000, like norton systemworks and norton internet security (the one with peter norton's picture on the box).

even then, a resource hog and installs a lot of services. but i used to endure said problems.

and now, even has a problem with uninstalling itself, that symantec provides an uninstaller hehe.

also, not that good in virus detection/removal, heuristics-wise and signature/definition-wise.

before using kaspersky, i used nod32. it is good heuristics-wise.

now, the latest iteration of kaspersky that i use (2009) has improved heuristics and hips protection.

Mga sis, help pls.... How can I download Free Trial Kaspersky? Instruction says: "For a free trial version, enter your email address and we'll send you a download that will expire 30 days after you install it."  I already enter my email ad but I still have not receive the file. does it take long to receive the file?
