Is there anyone here knows how to follow up the application in Spanish embassy?

I am a solo single Filipina planning to to a DIY Europe - Netherlands, Germany, Italy and France. I am funding the trip on my own. This has been my long time dream. I will be staying in Italy the longest hence I lodged my application in the Italian Embassy.

My Schengen Visa Application experience:
June - lodged a call with the Italian Embassy's call center.
July 22 - pick up of documents
August 5 - got a call from the Italian Embassy inquiring if I have any companions. I said no, but I booked a couple of group tours there. She said "Ok mam, thank you". She was actually nice. But I already had major anxiety on the outcome of my visa application since that phonecall.
August 17- received my passport.. and a letter of visa refusal from the Italian Embassy (letter was dated August 12).      I sent a letter for requesting for reconsideration  of my application the same day via fax and email.

I researched and double checked with their call center - reapplication can be made immediately but an appeal needs to be lodged within 60 days. To appeal, you need a lawyer in Italy who will appeal your case in the Court of Lazio. I don't know anyone from Italy so I was determined to get a personal appearance appointment for my reapplication. Para rin ma-explain ko ng mabuti. Ang hirap kasi that I will be judged based on the documents lang.

I was really really heartbroken with the denial. I cried a bucketload of tears on that. Hindi ako nagbabasa ng European Tours and Italy Thread dahil nalulungkot ako. It sucks. I am a traveler at heart and when I got denied, parang pinagbawalan ako gawin yung pinakagusto kong gawin.

August 23 - sent another email requesting for a personal appearance. I indicated that my date of departure is September 19.
August 24  - Italian Embassy replied and they granted me a personal appearance appointment on September 6. Email indicated na at least 7 working days daw yung processing time.

Cutting it too close. But I am very thankful to be given a second chance. This time, I intend to establish my rootednes in the Philippines by presenting more assets and even showing they bookings of my future local trips. Hopefully, it will have a poitive outcome this time. If not, then I gues my plan is not HIS plan.

^Oh no sis! How frustrating naman after all your hard work in DIY planning     I'll be praying that you'll finally get your visa after your personal appearance.

Naku sa Italian embassy din kami ni hubby mag-aapply for our trip next year. Ang Italian embassy pala walang personal appearance sa initial application? I thought all schengen visa applications, you will have to present yourself to the consul.

Sa Italian Embassy, you call a premium hotline (a 1909 number which costs around Php 34/min)to lodge your application. Not sure if they always grant personal appearance via email requests. Initally, nagsend din ako ng email for personal appearance nung June but they did not reply to that. According to their hotline, discretion daw ng embassy if they will entertain the email. I think magiging okay naman application nyo. I think I am a red flag applicant dahil single ako.

I also stand to lose some money since I also paid the airfare for my Intra-Europe flights. Mura kasi talaga when you book early so I took the chance. The MNL-AMS airfare partly refundable. And of course, there's the insurance and visa application fee. Pero hindi yun yung masakit. Masakit na ipinagkait sakin yung pangarap ko. It is like they just  flushed all my dreams.

^good luck melodymedley! grabe talaga yang italian embassy. i just found out one of our district managers was denied he's the accompanying staff of our company to a doctor's convention with 12 sponsored doctors. biro mo, meron letter of guarantee from our office (UK multinational company kami), meron family dito, aattend ng convention, all expenses paid by the company, ayun denied pa din

^sis, would that be his first time to apply for a schengen visa? Nagda-dalawang isip tuloy ako to apply with the Italian embassy. Plus wala pang personal appearance kaya di mo ma gauge kung ano ang magiging decision ng consul. Kakainis ha!

@melodymedley : shocks, ang hirap kasi pag no appearance.  I'll also be getting our visa from the Italian embassy but I'll be with my family - my parents and 2 sisters.

I hope they would reconsider.  Good luck!  Yes prayers and positivity will definitely help.

Warning lang to sa mga nag paplano mag apply sa Italian embassy in singapore for a schengen visa. Grabe ang rude ng babae behind the window. Tapos parang she's making up her own rules as she goes along. magbigay ka ng 3 months bank statement. biglang manghingi ng 6 months. pagkatapos bigyan ng 6 months, biglang gawing 9 months. 4 times ako nagbalik-balik. (sayang ang mga leaves ko talaga) tapos sinabihan pa ako na 1 month processing daw. kumusta naman yun. 1 month after ko nga nakuha aking visa.

the rule is that you apply at the embassy of the country of your port of entry or the country you are staying the longest right? sayang, wala kami choice. not only is italy our port of entry, we stay the longest there too.

basta natrauma ako sa babae na yun. will never go back to the italian embassy sa singapore if i can help it.

Have you tried sending an inquiry via email?  You're taking up a language course there pala.  What level are you taking sis?  Buti pa pala sa Spanish Embassy nag-entertain ng applicants for visa for language course kahit may Cervantes dito.

yes nag eentertain sila ng applicants sa spanish embassy,......aabou the course i'm taking ,hindi na kasi ini specify sakin ng sponsor ko kung anong level what they only sent me is the certificate of enrolment and it was all written in spanish,sila kasi nag enrol sakin and paid the whole amount for 9months..Nag try na rin ako mag followup via e-mail maec.es, but there were no reply. I am totally ignorant about this.And I can't take the risk of going directly to the embassy to follow up on this because I'm afraid it might give them a reason to deny me.kinuha nila yung passport ko so wala talaga akong hint.So I wait and wait and wait..

I have a friend naman na nag apply sa norwegian embassy as a tourist, 3 weeks lang approved na.

Helo po!  bago ako sa thread na ito (and sa female network actually), just wanted to share ang anxieties ko regarding a sudden plan to go to Europe this October. 

I'm a printing press owner in Laguna and last June our company joined a world competition for social responsibility programs ng mga printing plants,  wala naman sa isip namin ang mananalo but last week the world organization of newspapers told us we won! so happy lang talaga, tapos invited kami to the awarding ceremonies sa vienna austria. 

hay, syempre hindi renewed ang passports namin mag asawa, mygad. sobrang stressful passport pa lang, we got a courtesy lane pass sa dfa thru a dfa employee friend pero they denied our early release application sa dfa kahit sabi ko we won an award at pupunta kami sa vienna by oct 12. 

then i called the call center ng embassy of austria today (they charged 13 euro sa credit card for the call), i found out that i had to have the passport numbers on hand just to set an appointment e i was hoping pa naman na kahit basic info lang namin e hindi pala ganun. we dont get our passports until sept 12 so i can only call for an appmt on that day pa, tpos sabi nung taga call center it takes two weeks to a month for an appointment and an additional 3 weeks to find out if we are approved sa visa.  so there goes the award ceremonies for me. hay.

ang saya saya ko pa naman na nanalo kami pero ang dami kong sana, like sana sineryoso ko ang awards na ito at possibility of winning (pero i never thought we'd win talaga) at laging up to date ang passports. sana man lang naconsider sa dfa yung request namin for early release tutal naman good news naman ito na a pinoy company won an international award.

sana din mas maaga na announce ng WAN-IFRA ang aming pagkapanalo at mas may time kami to prepare. sana din dumating ang araw na hindi na sobrang hirap ng pag apply pumunta sa mga mayayamang bansa para sa mga Philippine passport holders.

i learned a lot from this thread, i read it from start to finish.  i just wanted to share my anxiety over applying for a schengen visa.  i will use all that i learned here for future reference if ever we plan to go to europe in the future for whatever reason.  thanks mga sis!

nakita ko sa site ng french consulate here in jeddah that they require air tickets and hotel booking as requirements for visa application. are these necessary na agad? tentative pa kasi annual leave ko sa march so not sure pa when i can have my actual leave. what should i do? advice please...

when i applied for schengen visa at spanish embassy (2 years ago), ang sabi lang sakin just wait for my passport in 2 weeks time. they don't entertain follow ups yata.

I am applying for a Schengen visa to visit my boyfriend who is an Austrian citizen. He just moved to Vienna a year ago. I can show many pictures to prove that we have been together for many years. I am unemployed. I am enrolled in Medical School and I have money in the bank to fund my trip. Do they give visas if you say you're visiting your boyfriend or does it lessen your chances of getting your visa approved? He thinks I should just say I'm visiting friends but I want to be completely honest on the interview. My interview is on Tuesday! Thanks in advance for your replies

^In your case, being completely honest may not help your cause. Your boyfriend is right better say that you're visiting friends. Stating that you are visiting him will be a liability kasi iisipin ng consul, single + no work + Austrian BF = magpapakasal na ito dun.

IMO better to emphasize that you are enrolled in medical school and that you have plans of coming back to finish it. Your vacation is just a respite from the stress of studying.

helo everybody! may pag asa pa pala ata ako mag apply for visas.  when i told the organizers na we might not make it in time with the austrian embassy, they said sa french embassy kami magpa appointment kasi headquarters nila is paris and then from paris, we go to vienna for the event.  I got a sept 21 appmt with the french embassy. nag email lang ako at nagreply naman agad na sept 21 ang date na bigay sa amin.  fingers crossed talaga dito kasi sept 21 is so near october already. sana magrant ang visa namin.  naku, sa mga nag apply na sa french embassy, how was it? madali lang ba? sinasabi ba kung pasado sa visas after the interview or not? and how soon do they release visas after interviews sa french embassy?

hi sis,i can feel what you felt when i received my refusal letter  i also cried buckets then because europe is really my dream destination and i really expected that i will pass    i cannot do anything, i even asked my cousin who knows someone inside the embassy to give me another chance but they said it's only by appealing in the court of Lazio that they will re assess my visa application. i asked my bf to get me a lawyer but it would take months,so i opted to wait nalang next year to apply again. to divert my attention with this failed schengen application i applied for an australian visa nalang,i'm waiting for the results now.

hi sis,i thought kasi if may kilala dun mas may chance na makakuha ng visa because they would ascertain that you do not intend to overstay but just to visit. do you think yun ba reason??
