Schengen Visa Application

@cosmotrina: Did you provide a plane reservation or ticket already? Looks like you passed the required documents plus some more. How come you still got denied kaya?  Did it take them three weeks (or more?) to deny? They really require some applicants to be interviewed pala.

I am still hoping and praying for a positive outcome on my application.

I applied for a student visa in spanish embassy,,had my interview last july 18,2011.How long would i know that I have been approved?today is supposed to be my flight schedule.....because it is almost a month and havent receive a call from them.I hope you reply pleaseeee...

^What did they tell you after the interview?  Na-follow-up mo na?  Weird lang kasi usually kapag student visa priority yung processing lalo pa malapit na yung date.  Di kaya na-overlook ang date ng alis mo? Or baka malayo pa naman start ng class mo?

My class will start on October 3 2011, but i want to have time to immerse on the said country before class starts on since im a complete stranger.........does a student visa usually gets approved or sometimes denied?nakakapraning kasi mag hintay ....i feel very anxious about it,

^Actually based from my experience, madali mag-apply ng student visa if... complete ang paperworks from school, insurance, proof of lodging and more than sufficient ang funds.  Baka nakita nilang October 3 pa naman start ng class mo kaya medyo tumagal.  Pero usually naman after the interview magkaka-hint ka if approved or denied ang visa mo e.  What course are you gonna take in Spain?

^yung sa friend ko binigyan daw sila ng 1 year..multiple entry daw..pwede pala yun?ang alam ko nga 90 days lang ang maximum eh.

Now ko lang nabasa ito. Pwede naman mabigyan ng 1 year multiple entry with stays not exceeding 90 days.  I have a visitor's schengen visa valid for 3 years na multiple entry issued by the French embassy in 2008. So sa Oct of this year mag-eexpire. While si hubby business schengen na 4 years and next year naman expiry.

ah kaya pala kahit pupunta kami Rome hindi kami dun magaapply sa Italian Embassy kung hindi sa French embassy. Sa Italy kasi madami nagTNT talaga and world youth day pa this year kaya very strict sila kasi opportunity na ng mga Pinoy gamitin and event.

Anyway, sa French Embassy required international insurance. to those who applied at the French embassy, how was your interview? I'll be coming from London ok na UK Visa ko. Other Visa i have is US Visa. I'll be travelling with my dad na nakavisit na sa France so sasabay ako sa pagapply sa kanya. Good thing I'm married na but hubby won't be travelling with me naman so if they ask what will make me go back sasabihin ko nalang na my husband works here and we have a business.

^sis, when you apply for a schengen visa you are required to get a travel insurance. Some of the insurances I have tried are Blue Cross and AIG Travel Insurance.

As to the interview at the French embassy, madali lang. As long as you have complete documents, no reason ka made-deny. Just make sure lang alam mo yung itinerary kasi dun sila matanong.

^mamasqueak, dun sa schengen visa application, sa number of requested entries portion, ano piliin namin? single, two entries, multiple entries?

also, do we have to purchase the insurance already?

^ Can I answer din?
If you plan on moving around lang within the 25(?) Schengen countries then just choose Single. But if you have plans to exit and come back - for example lang France-London-Germany-Italy in that order then get multiple. I ticked Single but got Multiple entry.

And yes, you have to present insurance already upon application. They refund naman the insurance fee if you're denied a visa (not full amount daw though)

My husband and I are scheduled tomorrow morning for our interview at the French Embassy.  Here's to hoping we'll be issued visas again.

Our previous visa was valid for three years with multiple entries.  Sana ganun ulit para less hassle next time.

@foxymom, the choice will depend on your itinerary and if you have intentions of going back to Europe. If your itinerary is within the schengen states lang and you've no intention of going back in the immediate future, then single entry will do. But if you plan to return soon after, then choose multiple.

When I applied with the French embassy way back in 2008, I ticked the single entry visa but they gave me 3 years multiple entry. Probably because we were sponsored by Airbus since hubby was picking up an A320 from their factory in Toulouse. Worked out for us since we were able to use it din naman multiple times.

As to the insurance, yes, the embassy will ask for it. It's one of the requirements in applying for a schengen visa.

thanks a lot sis Starlust and mamasqueak! actually, we want to go back by next year again and i really prefer choosing the multiple entry request, but was worried the embassy might take it the wrong way.

my husband is the type who does not want to hurry and wants to really experience a particular place, that's why we are just visiting paris, venice, and rome this trip. ayaw pa nga nya ng venice, dapat paris & rome lang. ako ang nagpipilit ng venice stop

Just got home from our interview at the French Embassy.  Okay naman siya.  Siningit lang kami with a group to get an earlier interview date since we have to leave mid-September instead of October as origninally planned.  Sana mabigyan ulit kami ng longer validity ng visa with multiple entries.  Para less hassle na when we travel next time.
