I really wish the UK would just friggin join Schengen! Or, if not, I hope my UK Visas in the past can help boost my Schengen application. Nakaka-frustrate na Paris is just a short train ride away from London pero I can't go kasi UK Visa lang meron ako.

We were once rejected by the French embassy.  We applied for the Schengen visa from them because we were entering France first. On the day of the interview, they saw our itinerary and found out that we're staying longer in Italy.  They said they cannot process our application.  Fortunately we had enough time pa to schedule an application with the Italian embassy.  That time, we had to appear personally in their embassy in Salcedo St.

Last year, we applied with the Italian embassy again but the process is different na.  No need for appearance.  You do it by phone and they will pick up all the requirements from your house/office together with the payment (Manager's check, cash is not allowed).  The pick-up schedule was set like a month after we made the call, and the processing took around 3 weeks / 15 working days.  The Italians are kinda inefficient.  Their hotline is almost useless.  We weren't even able to follow-up our application and just waited for the courier to return our passports.  We were so stressed already because we had to apply for another visa pa.  Good thing we got everything in time for our departure.

^oo nga hahahaha. pero if you have a schengen visa,  its almost automatic that they grant you a UK visa =) i just don't know the other way around pero if you have a UK visa naman, i don't think there would be a problem getting a schengen =)

sana nga almost automatic din yung other way around! =) Fulfillment na of a girlhood dream yang traipsing all over Europe. Hindi yung puro Briton lang nakakasalamuha ko, hehe.

I had this visa 10 years ako and yun travel agency na ang nagprocess. Nagrant naman kami lahat siguro dahil complete ang papers and minors kami, kaya paniguradong uuwi talaga ng Pinas.

Mga sis, pa-help naman please! Who has experienced applying for a schengen visa? me and hubby are planning to take a trip to Santorini this december. American si hubby so visa upon arrival siya so ako na lang ang may sabit pa sa paperworks.

hi mga sis, i went to process my visa for the UK last friday, i'm still waiting to find out if approved kami ng mom and brother ko or not. Naka schedule kami sa June 21, next week, for our schengen visa sa french embassy. I hope dumating yung uk visas namin before that time, if not, we wont be able to schedule another appointment before our intended flight on July 6. Fingers crossed.

Girls,

For those of you who got the visa through the Italian Embassy, do we still need to provide NSO-authenticated birth and marriage certs?

I got the list of requirements from the website of the Italian Embassy:

   1. visa application form
   2. recent passport-style photo
   3. passport or travel document valid for at least three months after visa expiry date
   4. return-trip booking or ticket or proof of available means of personal transport
   5. proof of available lodging in Italy: tourist vouchers, hotel booking, offer of hospitality
   6. proof of economic means of support, as per Ministry of Interior Directive 1.3.2000
   7. documentation of socio-professional standing
   8. health insurance policy with a minimum coverage of €30,000 for emergency hospital and repatriation expenses


Though there was no mention of NSO certs, just wanna be sure coz the French Embassy requires them. Also, what other proof of socio-professional standing could my parents present if they are self-employed?

Completed application form with Italian Embassy Logo
1 recent passport photo (white background )
original passport with 9 months validity plus xerox of the first and last page
xerox of previous visas and immigration stamps
original bank certificate
xerox copy of passbook
xerox copy of credit card and statement of account
ITR
Business Registration (Certificate of Employment and copy of payslip for the last 12 months if not self-employed)
Travel Insurance worth Euro 30,000.00
Flight booking
Itinerary
Hotel booking

Aside from the requirements, we also added a copy of a land title.  They'd also ask you to make a waiver to be submitted together with the requirements.

BTW, I found it easier to apply on my own vs. this 2nd time that I did it with an attestation d'accueil (invite letter) from my fiance's mom.

Mas madaming tanong and this female consul (Filipina-Chinese) is quite mean.
She even asked if I had an engagement ring and to see my engagement ring! Objectively, I know she's just doing her job to screen people but OMG naman, not everyone engaged to a French (or Foreign national) is some sort of mail order bride/prostitute or walang pinagaralan at cheap. Please lang ha!!!!!!!!! 

this is when I got my UK Visa but I can relate.  Pag nagpapa-sponsorship letter ako, usually from my other friends in the UK.  I hardly ever mention my boyfriend is English, kasi napaparanoid akong ma-typecast as an Internet bride! Baka maging rude pa ko, kasi hello, we met at an exchange program in England, not through a dating site, duhhh!

Meron ba ditong nauna ang UK Visa sa Schengen? Did it make the application any easier? Kinakabahan akong me-deny kaya hindi pa ko nag-aapply.

^I had a UK visa before I had my Schengen but this was years ago when I studied there. In my experience it's more difficult to get a US visa compared to getting a Schengen visa. As long as you have all the required documents plus a good travel history no reason you will be denied.

I lodged my application via the Italian Embassy's call center. Waaaah. More than one month pa ang scheduled pick-up.

Ang off lang, yung pinakuha na insurance period sakin is plus 15 days sa travel period ko. So yung 24 days, dapat daw may 15 days na allowance. I already got my travel insurance so kelangan ko pang dagdagan. Nakalagay kasi sa website nila is travel insurance but no period was indicated so I concluded same number of days ng travel ko. Di pala.

thanks sis. this is useful to know. plan ko talaga to do this right after grad but I'm so worried kasi I don't have a super fat bank account to boost the application..

tama si mama squeak, its more difficult to get a US visa compared to a schengen visa. sa US kasi, di mo talaga alam pano sila nag-approve ng application. the schengen visa is like the japanese visa. as long as you submit all requirements and have sufficient money to fund your trip, no problem to get approved =)
