"To get a work permit, you will need to find a job in Greece and then have that employer file a request for foreign labor before your arrival in the country. Once the request is filed, the Ministry of Labour will review it and determine if there is a need and then forwards it to the Ministry of Public Order. Then, questions of public order, public interest and security may be invoked to refuse the work permit. But if it is approved, the application is forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they authorize the consulate that has jurisdiction over the place of residence to issue the work permit.

After arriving in Greece once the work permit is approved, you will be required to have a medical examination within 5 days of arriving. You will have to register with the local police department as a foreigner and you must be accompanied by your employer when you do so. At that time, you will file your application for the residence permit. Your work permit will be employer, location and job specific. Your residence permit will be valid for one year, but can be renewed. Processing time generally takes no more than 3 months."

Your company should help you regarding the requirements lalo na if this is your first time because they know what you will need. Try to ask them and I am sure there are some papers that will be coming from their end na important sa pagapply mo dito ng visa.

Just would like to ask how long ba before I could set an appointment with the french embassy? Can I call and schedule for the day after agad? or weeks ang hihintayin? Apparently my moms letter was lost kase after she mailed it stating that she would be sponsoring me. Is email allowed? waaaaahh! I don't know what to do! July 23 na ang supposedly departure date ko! not to mention july 11 ang flight ko to UK before going to France! help....

They probably stated sa application that her accommodation and all her expenses will be shouldered by her Norwegian boyfriend that's why. I believe pag may sponsor/guarantor kasi, hindi na sila strict on the work or income of the visa applicant.

mga sis, how long does it usually take to get schengen visa? i need it for Austria sana... aabot pa kaya ako? paparenew ako passport and my sched is on aug 25th... saka pa lang ako apply for visa... mid oct ang alis ko. is it possible???

OT: been trying all morning to get an earlier slot sa DFA for my passport. luckily, from sept 8, i got aug25 na... will try pa to get an earlier slot pa para i have more time to process my visa...

^When I applied for schengen visa at the Austrian embassy way back in 2006, it took 3 weeks or 15 working days for the embassy to process the visa. You will have to leave your passport with them.

It's funny kasi kasi even though you apply for a schengen visa, each embassy have their own procedure when it comes to passports. At both the Austrian and German embassy, you have to leave your passport. At the French embassy naman, hindi. You just come back with your passport when the visa is ready and they'll just stick it on.

And going back to the Austrian embassy's procedure, you pick up your passport when the visa's okay but at the German embassy they send the passport back to you via courier and you'll pay the courier fee upon delivery.

^sis, i called the Austrian embassy kanina... with regards to visa inquiries, i need to call their call center and i will get charged 13euro per call agad. gusto ko lang kasi malaman kung gaano katagal or kahirap magpaappointment sa kanila.

paano ka nakapagset ng appointment with them? tia!

^sis, the Austrian and French embassy appointments were done by my hubby's office kasi company trip yun and sabit lang ako kay hubby. Yung appointment sa German embassy ako yung mismong tumawag sa call center nila for appointment (with corresponding charges). Hindi naman ganun kahirap mag-request. Suggest ko lang is have all your documents ready when you call para ala ka nang intindihin once bigyan ka ng available date. Maximum lead time to request for an appointments is 3 months before your planned departure. Processing of visa takes 3 weeks or 15 working days.

^oh my gulay... im leaving mid oct na sis.. aug 20 pa appointment ko sa DFA for passport renewal. so i will get my passport around Sept 1 na. so i only have 1.5months left before my departure...kaya iniisip ko kung magpaappointment na ako as early as now kahit wala pa passport ko...

i called Austrian Embassy hotline. 13euro charged sa credit card per call.

my appointment is on sept 7. meron pa silang sched for aug 30 kaso i will get my new passport by sept 1 pa. sana talaga walang maging problema... minimum of 2weeks daw yung processing nila. but when i checked sa website, usually 3weeks ang processing. mukhang aabot ako sa trip ko sa oct pag naapprove ako.
