Schengen Visa Application

Kasasubmit ko lang ngayon ng schengen visa application ko sa Austrian Embassy dito sa Middle East. Haaaay! 2-3weeks ang waiting time. Hoping for positive results.

hi! we are planning 2010  East medittarean cruise w/ my hubby 12 days only. meron na kami travel agent  saka application form for Schengen Visa, Egypt & Turkey kc destination. Asked ko lang wala akong work my hubby is a contractor  paano kaya yung sabay ba kami sa interview... paano yung bank account nasa Company name niya? kasama naba ako doon?

Yes, you can make an appointment for both of you since you'll be travelling together. My last schengen visa application sabay kami ni hubby ininterview.

As to your financial status, understood na yun your hubby will be supporting and spending for the trip since wala ka naman work. That shouldn't be a problem for you.

Approved ang schengen visa ko. Yipee!

Sana lang maki-ayon ang holidays namin dito para matuloy ang Euro trip ko.

Eto yung gusto ko i-share regarding my experience sa visa application:

1. Hindi required ang travel insurance BUT required ang MEDICAL insurance that would cover in case magkasakit ka doon and ang pag-uwi sayo in case of emergency.

Madalas ko kasing nababasa na kailangan ang travel insurance. So what I did, I bought one travel insurance good for two weeks and because of that good for two weeks lang na visa ang binigay sa akin. Yung date na nilagay ko sa travel insurance ko approximate lang since hindi ko naman sure when ako makakapagbakasyon. Ang masaklap dun binased ng embassy ang validity ng visa ko.

Now, when I went back to the embassy to get my visa, pinakita ko yung company insurance namin yung covered nya. The girl said na I can use that insurance the next time I apply for a visa and there is a possibility na mas mahabang visa ang ibigay sa akin. Nakakainis!

2. FEELING KO they don't verify your money in your bank account.

Since two weeks ang application and wala naman akong ibang source ng money kundi yung savings ko, yung salary ko naman wala pa. So I have no other option but to withdraw money kasi kinailangan ko. Malaki din nawithdraw ko nasa 40% ng total money ko sa bank.

Of course, it is always good to stay on the safe side and if you can, don't use your money while on process ang visa.

By the way, I applied here in the Middle East.

Re the travel insurance, iba siguro and coverage ng travel insurance issued in the ME. The travel insurances issued here in Manila covers both travel related claims i.e. delayed flights, lost baggage, etc AND medical claims i.e. hospitalisation, repatriation, etc.

And yes, the embassy will definitely base the validity of your visa with the duration of your insurance. Makes sense kasi requirement talaga ang travel insurance, in your case medical insurance, when applying for a schengen visa.

^yup i agree. when my dad seeked medical assistance when we were on a cruise in europe, he was able to have it reimbursed from the travel insurance we got.

mama squeak good kung sabay kami. nakausap ko na travel agent kailangan ko daw Affidavit of Support notarized nc hubby gagastos sa akin... first timer kc ako going abroad wala pang tatak passport ko kaya medyo mahirap.

Mayor's Permit ni husband
DTI
ITR
Birth Certificate/Married Certificate

to follow yung bank certificate saka statement naka request na sa bangko.

sabi pala ng agent namin wag namin sabihing cruise/ euro trip lang kase kailangan namin mag down agad pag cruise baka di ma-refund pag deny, gagawa na lang siya itenirary namin dummy.

mamakatulong ba kung mag lagay din kami ng title ng lupa nasa pangalan namin?

Yes, same lang. Ganyan din ang cover ng travel insurance na binili ko dito.

What I mean is, hindi naman pala requirement yan. Ang requirement lang pala nila ay medical insurance na cover ang pagpapagamot mo pag nakasakit ka sa Europe and pag-uwi sayo in case of emergency. The one stated in their requirements is only medical claims so option mo na lang if you want the one that includes travel claims.

Knowing that, now I can use my company insurance here the next time I apply for visa kasi it covers the insurance requirement.

Share ko na din, alam nyo nung nag-apply ako dito, para lang akong nagbayad ng grocery items ko.  As in, chineck lang isa isa ang requirements. Wala man lang tinanong ni isang question.

I also have my bank statement sa account ko sa Pinas pero hindi din kinuha yun. Yung bank statement ko lang dito sa middle east.

Nakakalungkot lang kasi marami akong nababasa sa ibang forums na sa Pinas daw napakahigpit ng requirements and may interview pa.

^^sis, baka ma-confuse yung ibang mga GTs dito trying to apply for a schengen visa. A worldwide travel insurance is a requirement. Now in your case, your company insurance will cover your trip good for you. But some companies will only cover you if you are on company business. So for those without this benefit they do have to get a travel insurance that will cover medical expenses.

Insurance is a requirement. Below is just a suggestion for those who have company medical insurance or personal medical insurance.

"Medical insurance - covering the area and whole period of your stay in the Schengen States
- minimum coverage: Euro 30.000,--; incl. repatriation in case of emergency" -I got this from the email sent to me by the austrian embassy personnel (middle east) nung nagpaprocess pa lang ako ng visa.

"An international valid worldwide travel insurance (medical expenses and repatriation) for the duration of the visa and valid for all Schengen states. Minimum coverage should be EUR 30,000." - I got this from the link mama squeak provided.

Travel insurance -insurance that covers travel claims and medical claims. Ex: Lost baggage, delayed flights, and others PLUS medical claims.

Medical insurance - insurance that covers medical claims.

If you could see, both of the quotes specify "medical expenses and repatriation" dahil yun ang DAPAT covered ng insurance.

Now, if wala ka naman talagang medical insurance, it is better to get a travel insurance. Para covered na din ang travel claims.

but...

If you are working and part of your company's medical insurance ay medical assistance while abroad for business and holidays, pwede mo na yun gamitin for the requirements. No need to buy a travel insurance.

"Emergency Treatment Abroad During Business Trips and Holidays" -this is a part of our table of benefits for our company's insurance. Nung pinakita ko ito sa staff ng embassy, she said, ok daw to since nasatisfy nito yun "medical expenses and repatriation". If you would notice, walang travel claims na included dito,medical claims only.

Bottomline, INSURANCE is major a requirement, medical/travel as long as it covers "medical expenses and repatriation"

Tama si mama squeak na ok ang travel insurance. Bumili din ako for myself and natuwa ako sa benefits even you lost your passport ay covered.

This is what bothers me...so if anybody has an answer to this, I would really appreciate.

1. If hindi sumakto ang vacation ko sa validity ng visa ko, I have no choice but to postpone my trip, hindi ko magagamit ang visa na inissue sa akin, would it cause a problem in my next visa application?

2. Is there a possibility na pag nasa Finland na ako, i-pa-extend ko ang visa ko dun even just for 2days? If yes, how much would I spend? and gaano katagal ang processing?

^sis, your savings or source of income should be commensurate with your expected expense for your European trip.

I will try to answer your question:

1. I think it will not be a problem since this is for renewal na lang. My 2nd schengen visa was not used for 1 year then it expired and have it renewed ok naman siya.

2. How long ba ang validity ng schengen mo? Normally, 3 months ang max na issue nila but as for me since this is company related I get 1 year schengen visa and once I was issued a 1 year working permit and permanent stay.

hello.. hope someone here would help me regarding about Schengen Visa.. My fiancee lives in Lisbon, Portugal. And i'm finding it hard on where to apply the Visa.. some says I should go to Indonesia to apply for it.. WOULD SOMEONE PLS HELP ME!!! i happen to read everything, but then sis.. what i would really like to know was.. do i have to go to Indonesia or what.. i tried to reach the girl who posted that she was asked to send her application via courier but the thing is.. i wanna know how she did it.. hope to hear answers.. thanx a lot peeps..
