Thanks again Ms. Lauren.  And yes thats what I've been doing while waiting for the result - praying.  I just lifted everything in God's hand afterall He knows whats best for us. Since there's really no point in calling I think I'll just wait for the embassy's next mail (which is expected to come after 3 months, right?)

you're welcome sansu910! three months na ba ngayon ang wait time for the results? i got the mail about the result of my speak test in about 3 weeks eh (after i took it). if everything is good, they will ask you for a new NBI clearance, if the last one you submitted is expired na by this time, and then they will ask you to submit your passport and go for medical exams. Included sa natanggap kong letter was an 'additional information' form which had about 3-5 questions. sorry i can't remember all pero andun yung tanong kung related ka sa employer mo and in what way. andun din sa letter yung instruction for your employer to submit the latest T4 or proof of income. from the time na nagpa-medical ako, it took about 2 months for the visa to arrive. 

with the influx of applicants now, i dunno what the current processing time is. pero at least you have an idea how it was about middle of this year.

yes sam.  i didn't know that was the LMO.  iba kasi itsura eh.  LOL.  what do you think should i do? hulog ko ba sa drop box?  pwede ba yun i fax lang?

The 3 months waiting time? Well, I kinda heard that from a batchmate in the Speak Test.  But I'm not sure how accurate the info is.  Anyway, its good that you gave me a timeline. 

We were already required to fill out an additional form when we took our Speak Test.  The 3-page form was enclosed with the letter from the embassy when we were advised  to take the test.  There's an item there where you have to disclose if you are related and how you are related to your employer. 

Also, may I know what sort of tests were done during your medical exam and how much did you pay for it?

Its just so comforting that we have someone to talk to regarding this matter and I appreciate your response to all my queries.

  SPEAK Test stands for Spoken Proficiency in English Assessment and Knowledge Test.  Its similar to IELTS but it is specifically designed for LCP visa applicants to Canada.  The test measures the applicant's english proficiency and knowledge of basic skills required of a Live-In Caregiver.

Nope. You won't be coming in for an interview with the consul anymore when you pass the SPEAK test. Neat eh? :-)

On the contrary, my sister was still asked to undergo an interview with the consul kahit nag SPEAK TEST na sya.

(so better prepare na rin, kasi baka hindi pare pareho)

for those who are waiting like me...
  I took my speak test last nov 16, 2007..after 20 days,I received my medical advise.
            THANK GOD!!

thanks! sana naman wala nang problem..sana nga meron na ngayon, at sana mon- fri lang mag deliver ng letter wala kasing tao sa house uwi kami batangas patay kasi lola ko  .. ano ba to!!

So based on kaibigan and sam's timeline, it seems that the waiting period for the result of the SPEAK test is 3 weeks.

my husband has submitted his papers for visa application last september after receiving his certificate of acceptance in quebec. how long will it take for the next step? according to them 12-18 mos, ganon katagal?
