If its french, the best option is really alliance francaise de manille, because mas comprehensive yung curriculum nila, its continuous and good teachers.  Plus they make a lot of resources available to you and give you avenues to practice your french.  They have fun classes. 

ive also tried berlitz, ok lang siya, very basic.  and at languages international, they have vietnamese teachers, but not really ok.

^ True, I agree with this. I took a couple of basic courses in Alliance. I'd like to continue eventually but since it isn't practical for me to go to Makati anymore, I'm thinking of continuing in UP instead.

Anymore feedback about the classes they give in UP?
I've heard some good reviews, thanks to this thread also. Feel free to share.

I took two modules in UP! I was required to take 15 units in the university, thing is the prof that was assigned to us was not really that good. So my friends and I signed up for classes in UP para matuto naman kami talaga.

It's really good especially their faculty there, very competent talaga. Very slow ang pace especially for beginners. I think when learning languages like french, which is a Latin language, you have to get a good grasp of the infinitives, conjugations and all that.

Recommendation ko, go to UP for the basic courses (they have until level 5) afterwards, enrol at Alliance Française.

Yup and after if you think kaya mo na, you can take the DELF/DALF for accrediation.

I wanna try French classes sa UP. Tatawag nga ako sa kanila tomorrow. Practical naman yung 2800 for 30 hours right? Sana may mga GTers ako na makasabay.

For French lessons, the best is Alliance Francaise. You'll really learn, because from day 1, you won't be speaking a word of English. If you do enroll in Alliance Francaise, try to get Mme. Janine Audrain as a teacher (if she's still here). Bow ako sa professor kong yun.

^ True. Madame Yolie is good also. I think they both have a reputation of being a bit "strict" especially in terms of not allowing a single English word during class. Though for a little while we were under another teacher (I forgot her name) who allowed a lot of English and all that and even if she was "nicer" to the class, it wasn't as effective. Just a bit of feedback.

Me naman, for French, pinaka mahina ako sa listening in my first few modules.  Minsan di ko talaga naiintindihan pag rapid na yung speech and hinahaluan pa ng French slang. Reading, writing speaking & pronunciation walang problema, sa listening laging "Pardon monsieur, repetez si'l vous plait?"

Iba talaga ang method ng Alliance Francaise, it's effective. I also remember my first day in French class with Mme Janine. Sabi nya at the start of the class, na henceforth we wouldn't be speaking a word of English, and then proceeded to teach. If she had to use sign language or mime, go ang teacher, just so we would understand her. Sa first day lang yun. By the end of the class on the first day we had learned a lot, even though she spoke to us only in French.

Of course, a good French dictionary is very very important.

Has anyone tried this school? Ok ba? I might give this a try kasi nasa Quezon City. I don't mind paying higher fees for Alliance, but it's just so far....

meron akong subject nito before when i was studying pa. hirap lang kasi meron talagang proper pronounciation, hindi tulad ng german and other languages na pwedeng basahin diretso. but then it's very interesting.

^they use Alter Ego 1 book, good for 3 modules yon (if semi-intensive) or 5 modules pag regular, 6 modules for extensive.
