madali kaya para sa isang non-chinese ang matuto ng mandarin? kasi naisip ko lang, yung mga chinese, bata pa lang nag-aaral na sila ng language na ito. pero pano naman kung 100% pinoy talaga at walang background sa chinese?

Medyo mahirap ata ang german, i tried reading some stuff bout german language, actually basic german. hirap...

actually, german is quite an easier language to learn than, say, french or japanese. a lot of english words kasi came from the old germanic language kaya magkalapit lang. for example, beer is bier in german; arm, finger and hand are the same in german, slightly different in pronunciation lang.

girls, i bought rosetta stone-learning chinese cd yesterday and started learning chinese hehe..
it's quite difficult kasi [textspeak!] han yu [textspeak!] ang kaya kong basahin, but for a jump start in speaking another language, it's a good software to start while were still scouting for the language school of our choice.
so far, no reply pa from UP eh.

hi! the rules on subject-verb agreement are essentially the same in german as in english. however, the verbs take on many different forms. another big challenge in studying the german language is memorizing the genders of all the nouns. and unlike french, which only has 2 genders, german has 3: masculine, feminine and neutral. the gender of nouns has a very important effect in the rules of german grammar.

sinabi mo sis! parang ang dami-daming rules. lalo na yun mga irregular verbs nila pati adjectives kelangan take into consideration din kung feminine or masculine.

^ oo no. kasi nung una pa lang ako nag-aaral ng german, talagang di kinaya ng powers ko, kasi nahihiya akong magpronounce nung mga words na may umlauted vowels e.

^ha-ha! sabagay, awkward nga naman na yung lips mo naka-form na parang 'o' pero 'e' yung sound na lumalabas, no?
 
maikwento ko na rin...i took the crash course in german at the goethe institut for about 8 consecutive weekends. of course, yung language instructor namin pinoy (she also teaches german in UP and in DFA), so she spoke german with a filipino accent. i finished the course with a "sehr gut" (excellent) mark. but the moment i landed in deutschland, and the shuttle driver who fetched me at the airport talked to me, wala akong maintindihan! nyay! so for my next couple of months there, parang back to scratch na naman ako.  ibang-iba talaga ang accent nila. and germans speak way too fast!

ako din dati, nung 1st level pa lang ako sa goethe, nakatapos din ako na sehr gut. pero 2nd level, hindi na kinaya ng powers ko. hehe. basta sobrang nakakalito talaga, lalo na kung hindi mo napa-practice.

two months ago, meron akong nakasabay sa bus na filipina. she was talking on her cellphone in german. as in tuloy tuloy sya at ang bilis nya! napaisip tuloy ako...for me to get to her level, i think it's going to take me more than 5 year pa

ikaw sis, ilang years/months ka na nakakasalita ng german? ako talaga, sobrang basic e. di ba yung mga post mo nun sa beatles thread, i can understand them. but the thing is, di ko mareply in german kasi hirap pa ako mag-construct ng sentences.
