after buying the book "A Year in High Heels" i realized na better choice ang NBS, though maganda naman talaga ang interiors at ambiance and locations na rin ng Powerbooks there is a huge price difference sa books. P429++ ang bili ko dun sa book sa Powerbooks, when i checked the same book at NBS P359++. mejo nakakahinayang din. Good thing, i'm loving to read it. it has lots of trivia.

^ yeah sis you are right malaki ang price difference ng dalawa. I usually buy sa NBS because it's cheaper there and mas accessible din this bookstore for me. I only buy books sa powerbooks pag di available sa NBS ang book na hinahanap ko.

lately, i've been buying books again in NBS even if i have discount cards in Powerbooks and Fully Booked. iba pa rin kasi price difference eh.

@betsyness and katie_21: i agree with you sisses! mas affordable sa NBS compared to powerbooks. of course you cant deny the fact that PB offer great customer service and good ambience, because they charge you more to what you expect.

Both bookstores are owned by one company. Mother company ng PB ang NBS. When it comes to price malaki talaga ang difference, PB kasi is retail, NBS naman wholesale, that explains why NBS is a bit cheaper but they won't call PB a specialty store for nothing.

I prefer PB. Hinahanap talaga nila yung book na wala sa branch nila para sayo.

here in NBS cebu branches (ayala, sm and mango) , ok lang free reading as long as discrete,  . pero mas ok sa powerbooks and fully booked since you can really sit down and read all you want,

If I need to buy a book, I'll defintitely go sa National Bookstore since mas cheaper ang price.

Pero kung magba-browse ako ng mga next na bibilhin ko, punta kong Powerbooks. Sa powerbooks din ako nagbabasa, I think nakatapos na ko there ng 2-3 books in one sitting!

It depends talaga kung ano ang purpose ko eh, I say, love ko National Bookstore at Powerboks.

I find the book selections in NBS a bit too limited. I prefer Power Books or Fully Booked. NBS kase is more of a school/office supplies store na lang for me.

you should read the interview about how the founder/owner of National Bookstore gets to sell books at a lower price. She explains to the publishers how even while the Filipinos cannot afford to buy their books THEY must read. They give in so NBS is able to either reprint these books locally and/or retail at a lower price.

I buy from NBS and then from Fully Booked. The prices/selections at Powerbooks isn't too good anymore. I think

For reading only i must say powerbooks kc very convenient i like powerplant branch pero mas cheaper sa national book

for convenience, i love going to National. mas accessible din kase may malapit na national dito sa place namin. but kung medyo mahirap hanapin na books, i go to powerbooks.

may NBSellers shops na. I find really good books there minus the markups from specialty bookstores. Found these NBS shops sa Galleria and Podium. very nice.

i like powerbooks better kasi wider range.. pero siyempre nothing beats national bookstore pagdating sa school supplies.. at least for me, pansin ko nga di pwede na di ako lalabas ng national na walang nabibili... hehe
