in terms of customer service id go for powerbooks w/o a doubt. it seems as if all national bookstores staff are rude.
i went to natl bookstore in rob's place in ermita and everytime i buy books there, they always forget to turn off the damn security sticker placed at the back of the books and it pisses me off that i have to remind them of that when its their job to do that in the first place! imagine having to pass through the garrison thing (not sure what its called) and buzz as if you took something!! damn them

powerbooks! it seems national bookstore has everything BUT books. ha ha. and yeah, i don't like their staff that much either. they're not eager to help customers.

Powerbooks is more organized than National bookstore. I hated buying books in NBS after Powerbooks opened in Robinson's Manila and in Mall of Asia.

same owners. but powerbooks is a specialty store for books (wide range) only as opposed to national bookstore which also caters to all office/school supplies and everything.

agree ako. di ako masyadong natutuwa sa customer service sa national.

i prefer powerbooks. i am satisfied with their customer service. nung nag sale sila last month, i gave a list that had about 15 titles to customer service kasi tinatamad ako maghanap. siya ang nagpunta sa mga shelves to get the books.

i also like the fact that i can just call and they can reserve for me. and that they notify me when a title i want becomes available.

to top it all off, i get discounts and rebates because i am a powercard holder.

i bought some disney books at fully-booked before thinking na they weren't be available at national and powerbooks only to find out later that they were pala. and the books were about P60-P100 cheaper pa. never been back to fully booked since.
