Is compound better than isolation workouts?
« on: September 16, 2023, 07:07:08 pm »
I'm sort of a beginner and I've been starting my workout with a few compound exercises and then doing some isolation. Wouldn't doing isolation be more beneficial than compound if you have the time as you're able to fully exhaust all your muscles one at a time? Or is it better to work multiple muscles with compound even if not all your muscles get tired?

Today I only used the leg machines at my gym which seem to be mostly isolation such as calf raises, seated leg curl, leg extensions, glute machine, and then the compound ones being lying leg press with basic footing and the hip abduction and addiction machine (not too sure if the last one is compound though). Is this a bad idea? Should I do mainly compound instead of mainly isolation?
