Should you look for love or just wait for the one to come?

I have done casual relationships before, sure, fun in the moment but I would like to find my person now. I've tried dating apps but I have a hard time connecting with the guys there. And also most of the guys there are looking for something casual. That's fine too but it's not what I want.

One of my friends said that my "dream guy" will appear when I least expect it. I kind of don't really believe in that. Like, putting yourself out there should increase your chances, right?

So should I actively be looking for love, or lay back and let "faith" do the work? Any advice on how to find love that isn't dating apps 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254 ?
