I love ?Once Upon a Time in Hollywood?. But I still don?t get it.

I really enjoy the film on a superficial level; the performances by Leo and Pitt are dynamite. The dialogue, music, production design:🤌. I am also aware of its real life inspirations and allusions. But I still get the feeling, based on discussions I?ve seen about the film, that there are a lot more layers I still haven?t found yet. I?ve heard people say this movie is very ?inside baseball?. Am I correct in describing it as a historical fiction like Inglorious Basterds?
