question about blow dryer spray

okay so i was looking for heat protectant at ulta and i was only able to find a blow dry spray which is meant to be used on damp hair but i want to use it like before i straighten my hair and sruff seeing ad i never blow dry it. what are the long term effects of using it while my hair isn?t damp? will it cause breakage or dead hair https://omegle.onl/  vshare ? should i try to use it as heat protectant or would you recommend returning it and trying to find an actual heat protectant?
