How do you feel about fashion?

I just wanted to start a discussion post because I was musing about it today and would love to get other people's ideas and opinions https://vlc.onl/ Appvalley .

How do you feel about fashion? Do you pay attention to fashion trends? Do you feel hampered by them, or do you have fun with them? How does it affect what clothes you choose to wear?

For me, personally, I sometimes get annoyed by pressure to be 'in fashion' or 'on trend' or whatever you want to call it, especially if I know the trend in question would look terrible on me. I find it irritating when it feels like every single store is selling the same stuff, making it harder to find 'neutral' items.

(eg. recently a lot of Australian stores in my area have been selling stuff in what I can only describe as 'swimsuit fabric' - heavy synthetic stuff - for summer. It is the worst possible thing to wear on 40 degree days.)

But I do like knowing about fashion in a broader sense. I love the artistic element of fashion, and the history of it, and looking at how different designers communicate their ideas. And I like having the ability to control how I come across to people. To project a certain image depending on the situation.
