How many movies with monstrous protags/main characters are there?

Monstrous as in, not human, or no longer human. Was watching Treasure Planet and the thought came up because... idk, humans boring or something I guess. Frankenstein comes to mind but not much else does. It's cool to see villains transformed/cursed/just straight up monsters and looking all scary and the heroes all beautiful etc. but I'm bored of norms and want something refreshing. iZombie also comes to mind and I did enjoy the first season quite a bit but the protag, despite being a zombie, still looked quite human  10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254 .

Bonus points if the protagonist/character had a past life before becoming a monster.

Anyone able to recommend anything?
