Picky Eater or ARFID
« on: March 27, 2023, 06:42:00 am »
My 6 year old son is an extremely picky eater na hindi na siya normal picky eating lang. My brother had this when growing up. He doesn't eat fish or vegetables, puro halos prito lang. While ako naman, sobrang hilig ko sa pagkain at hindi talaga ako mapili.

My son eats everything until he was 2 years old. Bigla nalang siya nag pupu and throw up everytime na kakain siya. Ang diagnosis is, he is lactose intolerant. He dropped to 8kls at 2 years old :( that's when it started. He refused to eat ANYTHING. He is breastfed till he 3 yo but at that time my milk is not enough for him. He's continuously losing weight. Then my mom introduced Jollibee chicken. Nagustuhan niya and hindi siya nag throw up or pupu.

At first, gusto pa niya with meat ng chicken, pansit, sinigang (yung sabaw lang). Then paunti ng paunti nalang yung gusto niyang kainin. Now, bilang na bilang ko sa kamay yung gusto niya kainin. Sa chicken, chicken skin nalang na gagawin mong flakes on top of rice (This is his favorite) sa sabaw, bulalo nalang. Not any kind of bulalo, but a bulalo sa isang specific resto.

I'm reaching out to fellow moms na may same case ng anak ko. I joined a group of moms na may ARFID babies din. Hindi pa siya known worldwide. I tried checking for the PH mom groups in FB but wala na akong makitang matino na mommy group. Puro (I'm sorry for the word) walang katuturan post nalang nakikita ko. Nakaka frustrate na yung Go to groups ko na smart parenting, nahaluan na nang kung [textspeak!] ano. Mas nabibigyan pansin yung mga personal posts. Not to invalidate their feelings but I joined that group in hopes na magkakaron ako ng guide as a first time mom. But sadly, it changed na. Sana may makatulong sa akin dito.

You should prioritize creating a positive eating environment by fostering relaxed and enjoyable mealtimes, avoiding pressure, and focusing on a pleasant atmosphere that encourages your wordle unlimited child to engage with various foods willingly.
