Fruits and vegetables put me to sleep
« on: February 06, 2021, 11:39:17 pm »
I don't know what it is, I want to be healthy and get my 5 a day, and despite the fact I do consume sugary snacks daily, like to consider my diet better than it used to be a few years ago (when I basically lived off frozen processed food and takeaways), as I now make my own meals which include servings of fruit/ vegetables in (like a bolognese or casserole bulked out with them or vegetarian dishes), but whenever I eat/ drink something like salads, fruit smoothies, snack on fruits/ vegetables, they make me feel exhausted and I can guarantee regardless of which meal I have them at, within about 20 minutes I feel I need to go to sleep (which can be difficult if I'm at work).

Any suggestions as to why or what I can do about it? I enjoy smoothies and salads etc so don't want to eliminate them entirely.

I hope that just made sense, I just had a smoothie for breakfast and totally ready to go back to bed again despite being wide awake about half an hour ago lol.

Maybe it?s the sugar/carbs that you eat with your fruits/veggies..like the smoothie you say you had maybe its the amount of sugar or the dairy you put in there
