Insurance Claims

if you ask any agent or those who have just bought their insurance will say that its a good investment, but i was hoping to hear from those who have had it for a while and have actually tried to file for claims on their insurance.

there are some not-so-good stories about insurance claims which makes me wonder if its still worth getting in VULs rather than just investing directly in stocks, MF, uitf, etc.
