I don't know of any but I think modelling of parents is a great factor and discipline at an early age. It is basically a repetitive task of training kids starting at a very young age. Like don't ever under estimate kids of their capabilities to do something at an early age because that is the start of training them to become successful in life. And to tap their potentials at an early age. Like for example if you want them to become good writers as early as 5 or 6 yrs old ask them to  write simple sentences on a daily basis. If you can afford to enroll them as well in different classes  for them to see what they are most interested in much better. Saving up for something that they want to have be it toys or a simple kid's stuff is good as well. And most importantly engaging them in conversations of different topics and asking them how they feel about it is also good training for kids to think well when they become adults. It would instill lots of discipline as well to kids if you have a daily schedule for kids and ask them to follow the schedule like for the  kids I am handling after breakfast 30 mins reading time, 30 mins piano practice, writing 6 sentences, snack, answering Kumon book, lunch, 15 minutes Ipad time , 30 minutes arts and crafts time, bike ride/play outside, snack, and  play at the park.  Sometimes they find it very rigid but I tell them the benefits of doing those activities as it is for their own good. HTH :)

I'm old school sis but some of what I did with my son might help:

1. Flash cards  - I introduced flashcards into his life even before he turned 1 year old. At first, it looked like he doesnt even care at all, but later did I realize that he actually absorbed what I showed thru flashcards.

2. Posters - I put up different educational posters in his room  Kids easily remember things that they always see.

3. Daily worksheets - yes like what teachers do! This is even a perfect bonding with your kid and you'll see the areas which he/she needs to focus more on.

4. Sharing - end of day, we have this what I call as "how was your day" time where we  all share how our day went. I just feel that there is a need for kids to get used to sharing their thoughts/experiences/plans so they become comfortable in speaking up.  With this, you'll also get to know your kid's feelings/emotions etc.

Also, I try to avoid comparing my son with other kids. I dont want him to do his best just to please me.
