Weddings and COVID -- How to deal with this?

We're getting married this summer and have been planning this for over a year already.

But then COVID happened.

We're still gauging how situation will progress in the coming weeks, but a workaround is to move our wedding in the latter part of the year. We're concerned about all the expense and effort our guests have had to use up just to make it to our wedding... Is this a valid concern to worry about?

^sis better to move na lang at the end of the year. Or pwede din yung ginawa nila Sarah and Richard, went ahead with the wedding ceremony with close family lang then wedding celebration after na lang ng health crisis.

Actually schedule din sana namin next Friday. Civil wedding pero we have to move sa sumunod na week pa kasi kelangan mag-quarantine ni H2B ng 14days dahil kakadating lang kahapon. Naghihigpit ang Embassy so we have to adjust.

Nakakastress talaga yung covid. Sa JUly pa ang wedding ko pero ngayon kinakabahan na ako. Since maraming na postpone malamang marami na din kami makakasabay. Kulang kulang pa din kami e.

Na moved samin. No choice. And para naman ito sa ikakabuti ng lahat.
Nakakalungkot pero syempre priority natin ang kalusugan ng lahat.

Isa sa nakakalungkot talaga amidst this pandemic are these special occasions na needs to be delayed or be put on hold. In our case yung debut ng daughter ko 😔. First yung Plan A namin was our supposed family travel to SoKor, then yun nga nag travel ban so plan B. Pland B was to have a simple swimming party na lang with her close friends and our immediate families and relatives then comes this enhance community quarantine 😔. We all don't know pa kung ma li-lift na nga yung ECQ after a month. My daughter was super sad, but she knows that halos buong mundo naman ang affected and is thriving through these difficult times.

There is really nothing that we can do but hope and pray that everything will be back to normal the soonest possible time.

For those weddings affected by COVID, how do you plan to cope? May gagawin ba kayong adjustments sa wedding nyo other than postponing - (intimate na lang, change program, venue, etc.) ?

Na moved na samin e kaso may virus pa rin haha. Pa expire na requirements namin..gusto sana namin ni h2b na ipush yung kaming 2 lang at pari sa ceremony. Mahigpit ba sa mga check point? Ibang lugar kasi so nag aalala ako baka useless din.
Bawal din palang lumabas samin kapag ibang araw. Dapat specific day lang.
O sapat ng rason yung kasal para lumabas pasok kami sa lugar?

^ I suggest palipasin muna ang quarantine before getting married kahit civil lang. I doubt din naman na maikakasal kayo agad ng mayor or pari or pastor. You need to coordinate with them muna din.

Btw, yung archdiocese ng manila naglabas na ng memo na they will only accept intimate weddings this year. Only one sponsor allowed as witness, tsaka immediate families ng bride and groom. Wala din abay muna.

My brother and my friend were supposed to be wed last March and April. Kaso this pandemic happened. They are considering an intimate wedding na lang para lang matapos na at maikasal na sila. Kaso paid na sila halos sa lahat ng suppliers kaya naguguluhan na talaga sila.

Baka nagsasawa na sya ng kaka-move. Pero ako mas prefer ko next year.
Kung pwede dun sa church ang  intimate wedding this yr, ok lang din sakin ipush yun tapos next year nalang celebration.

Hindi ko na masyadong iniisip kung may kailangan kaming igive up like money and supplier.

even after ma lift ang lockdown sa atin we will need to follow the new normal which is social distancing and no gathering of more than 5 people pa din just to be safe lalo na for our elderly. kaya kung ako ikakasal at this time civil wedding will suffice pag pwede na.

maintindihan naman yung ng mga relatives niyo kasi nga may ganitong pandemic and it is also for their own good.

ang question ko is paano kaya yung mga fully paid na sa mga suppliers? refundable ba yun?

Civil wedding din kami sa Embassy. Una inusog lang ang schedule, ngayon cancelled na lahat ng wedding solemnisation starting March 23. Inabutan kami kaya hanggang ngayon naghihintay pa din kung kelan luluwag at magreresume ang regular Consular services.

Don't care. I have weeding soon. We just bought some arc reef hand sanitizers and just relaxing. Wedding is a very important event for me and I could not delay it. I'm afraid a little that my husband will change his mind about it and we won't marry at all. Yeah, it sounds strange but I'm a little fat and I'm really panicking about it. I'll not let this virus to change my life.

We rescheduled our wedding for the next year( We didn't want to risk so we took this decision and I hope everything will be ok next year.

Good morning!! Natuloy ang wedding namin sa wakas! Hindi man kagaya ng ipinlano namin (headcount) pero Thank God! Kasi nice weather and very solemn ng  ceremony. Ang ganda pa ng preach ni father.
