Traditional Noche Buena Dishes sa Family
« on: November 12, 2019, 02:31:55 am »

Back when we were living back sa Pinas we had:
Shanghai lumpia
Spaghetti
Ham
-- If the only prayer you say in your life is "Thank you Lord," that would suffice. --

^Baka hanapin ng mga kids or ask mo muna kids mo if ok lang na walang macaroni salad this year.

nung bata pa ako, For Noche Buena with my sis, Mom & Dad, we will just buy a box of pizza and a bucket of Chicken.  sometimes nagtuturbo ng Chicken. ganun lang lagi. I still have memories na pagbili ng food sa NLEX on Christmas eve. (we live near an exit kasi)
on Christmas Day naman we always go to my Paternal Grandma's house, laging may malaking handaan dun.

When my Mom passed away na, sister ko na in-charge sa Noche Buena namin at naging mas bongga, magaling kasi magluto yung kapatid ko, may pasta, salads, appetizers then mga 2-3 dishes. Special lagi  yung tipong hinde madalas lutuin sa bahay, even yung pasta special din lol.

on my hubby side, wala silang Noche Buena, on Christmas Day, kain sa labas or 1-2 special dish na handa ganun lang.
New Year's sila naghahanda pero lately tamad na din magluto so order na lang ng food like Conti's. I order food na lang din para sa dadalin namin but last year nagluto ako lechon belly and baked mac.

We usually do a traditional Swedish christmas spread, dahil madaming swedish sa pamilya namin.

1. Swedish Meatballs
2. Mashed Potatoes
3. Sausages (Prinskorv)
4. Jansson's Temptation - Baked potatoes with anchovies
5.Glugg - boiled wine, rum and almonds

Tapos for the pinoys, we usually have:
1. Excelente ham
2. spaghetti or any pasta dish
3. lumpiang shanghai
4. fruit salad
5. San mig beer

minsan may rice, madalas wala
