« on: October 15, 2019, 08:56:27 am »
Hi everyone, just wanted to know if you have any tips & tricks for new moms/moms to be on what happens after childbirth.

Things you wished someone told you before you gave birth which can help new moms to cope during the 4th trimester.

Admins please merge with existing topic, if there's one; tried to search for one but didn't find any. :)

Breastfeeding! No one told me it wasn't gonna be easy to breastfeed a baby. Especially newborns since they need to be fed most of the time. You feel tired most of the time and can't do other things. That's why a very supportive husband or any assistance would be very helpful.  :)

-now pa lang at your 4th trimester mag ipon na ng tulog, di ko to sinunod dati because I thought they were exaggerating but boy! I was so wrong.
-if you're planning to breastfeed, pwede ka na uminom ng lactation supplements such as Natalac or magmalunggay tea ka, para makapag build up na ng supply kahit pano.
-seek help from your partner, now pa lang mag usap na kayo kung pano ang set up esp. pag sa gabi, sino ba ang gigising para mag-tingin if ever umiyak ang baby (para palitan ng nappies, magpadede) di kasi pwedeng nanay lang ang gagawa...remember, anak nyo pareho yan, di pwedeng ikaw lang ang puyat while hubby/partner ay ang sarap ng tulog, magkakaron ka ng slight na sama ng loob pagkaganun...

Medyo nakalimutan ko na sis because that was 7 yrs ago. But I found some helpful tips online:

1.  Having sex for the first time after birth can really hurt.
2. Stool softeners are your new best friend.
3. You?ll bleed more than you think. - it?s totally normal to bleed for four to six weeks, sometimes more.
4. It is possible to get pregnant even within the first few weeks after delivery. This is true even if you?re breastfeeding

Thank you, mommies!! ;D This will be helpful pag nanganak na ako, my EDD btw is March 2020.

Curious ako actually sa 1st sex after giving birth so kahit magaling na yung sugat, masakit pa din talaga? :o

Keep them coming, TIA! :-*

1. Drink plenty of water especially if you plan to breastfeed. I naturally drink a lot of water, around 3-4 liters per day. Eat food with sabaw (like tinola, sinigang, etc) and take supplements.
2. Wear a binder everyday. I swear, this was super effective for me. No flaps, no excess skin, abs back in less than a year (with work out of course).
3. Ask your hubby/partner for help not just with the chores. I'm very lucky that my hubby is very hands on with our daughter and very helpful with the chores. Dati pa I had 2 helpers plus my mom was still around. Now, no helper, mom gone :( It's just us.
4. Nap while your newborn is napping. It's your best bet for rest.
5. Sanayin si baby sa white noise. Meaning, hinde kelangan na dead silent ang environment pag tulog sya. Play classical music para masanay na sya na maingay pa din kahit tulog sya.
