All about Feeding bottles

Hi Everyone,

There was a previous thread about Feeding Bottles (thread 5) but the last update was last 2018, so I was asked to open a new thread instead.

So, as I was lurking around the internet and upcoming baby fairs and stumbled about baby bottles.  I know babies are prone to colic or kabag and as much as possible I would like to buy a bottle that helps reduce if not prevent that. 

I've heard people using Avent natural, Tommy Tippy, Dr. Browns and Comotomo.
Comparing the brands I found that currently Comotomo is one of the best. 
I've read reviews and comments and surely its highly rated but there were some negative comments about leakage and toppling over that is plaguing my mind. 

Has anybody here used Comotomo?  What can you say about it?  Is it true that its leaks and easy to topple over? 

Would you recommend it or not?

My nephew's first feeding bottles are from avent but it does not address the colic concern, hence, weswitched him to dr. brown and so far he is okay with it. We also introduced him to pigeon feeding bottles and he liked it too. At 6 months, his feeding bottles are from dr. brown and pigeon.

^sis madame_ekis, nag aabang din ako ng feedback sa comotomo bottles eh...maganda kasi reviews online pero mostly from people abroad...dito ata sa philippines recently lang sila nagkaron ng products dito...

Farlin lang bottles ni baby dati.
6 standard & 2 small sizes, 550 php lang lahat, nagamit nya for 3 yrs. 😃 wala namang issues like colic.

For current pregnancy not sure pa. Walang Farlin dito. Never heard of comotomo maybe bec im not looking for bottles yet.

Yeah panay abroad moms nga ang nakikita ko na nag cocomment sa Amazon and Youtube.  DIto ata sa pinas mas sikat pa din yung Avent eh.

^sis J.Warner, sa panganay ko din gumamit ako ng Farlin at Babyflo bottles nung mga 1yr old lang siya...Ok naman matagal din talaga magamit...

^sis madame_ekis, di kasi ako fan ng Avent, for me na-hype lang siya, mas ok pa sakin ang Tommi Tippee sa 3rd baby ko gumamit ako Tommi Tippee...

It looks like if you have UV sterilizer you can't use that to sterilize Comotomo bottles since its made of Silicone.  UV destroys Silicone daw so if you check the Comotomo website meron silang list lang ng compatible sterilizer.  Haakaa breast pump din is Silicone so di din pede sa UV sterilizer.
Looks like if I want Comotomo normal boiling na lang sila.

^sis madame_ekis, you may want to check PUR Bottles, meron sa mga Landmark, Puregold etc...di din ako familiar nung una, pero nakita ko kasi review nya mukang maganda, then sa Baby, Kids and Family Expo hinanap ko booth nila...nakabili ako di ko pa lang natry talaga, pero ganda naman...mas mura siya...

Using comotomo bottles here! Been using it over 2 months and so far wala naman kaming issues.

Regarding sa leaking, this happened to me once but I found out na hindi lang mahigpit yung pagkakasara ko. Dahil kasi iba yung material, I think need talagang higpitan yung pagkakasara di tulad ng other bottles (e.g. avent) na may hangganan lang dapat ang pagpihit mo (gets? 😅). So far, wala na kaming issue sa leaking. Siguro yung mga may leaking issues unfortunately nakakuha sila ng bad batch ng bottle or baka ginamitan ng UV sterilizer kaya nasira. Ako I use the Avent 3-in-1 steam sterilizer, convenient kesa mag-boil.

Sa toppling over, yes this is true but minor issue sa akin basta nakasara mabuti ang bottle. Pero flat naman yung bottom ng bottle so hindi naman basta basta mag-t-topple over.

Ang problem ko sa comotomo is yung measurement. Clear bottles sya diba, tapos yung writing ng measurments is not printed, parang engraved. So ending, medyo mahirap basahin para sa mga tulad ko na malabo ang mata. 😂

Overall, maganda ang comotomo for me because walang nipple confusion si baby. I breastfeed like 90% of the time, we only use the bottles when I need a break and someone else has to feed the baby. I got this bottle for this specific reason especially because I need to get back to work next year.

With my daughter, we used Dr Brown's wideneck bottles and Avent. For my son now, ang plan ko lang bilhin is Dr Brown's Options+ wideneck bottles. I'll buy siguro mga 2 sets para hinde kelangan hugas hugas especially when I go back to work. I like that the Dr Brown's options' vent can be removed when the baby is not so prone to colic anymore.

Sterilizer naman, Chicco gamit ko before so most probably yun din bilhin ko this time. Nag iba na ichura nya hehe

Kakagaling ko lang Sydney baby expo. Nakabili ako avent bottles yung anti colic system advanced. 3 small (Up to 125ml)  & 3 medium (up to 260ml). Total $30 or 1,040 pesos, akala ko nakatipid ako ng malaki sabi kasi sa expo almost 80% off daw. Pag check ko sa supermarkets halos ganun din presyo, haha.

Yung Tommy tippee nakita ko sa Target, 2 pcs (260 ml) is $19 or 659 pesos, so it seems mas mahal sya ng konti sa Avent but not sure if mas ok.
