Being an influencer doesn't involve showing off your hauls, designer goods, pets, landian with boyfie, sponsored products and travels, etc. It's about having an advocacy, speaking your mind about what matters, taking a stand, being able to fearlessly voice out your opinions.

Influencer my arse.

A lot of local youtubers do not create original content. They are themselves influenced by the fad of the day. Most of them are just echo chambers.

Case in point...."Assumptions video".... LOL!   "Birdbox Challenge"...LOL!..."Swimsuit ek ek"... LOL!...."Maldives"..LOL! Ano susunod? Croatia? LOL!

But of course they can influence their unsuspecting fans.

But somehow kasi, they are an influencer of their viewers. Some viewers kasi di naman lahat ng content creator sa youtube ay pinapanood. Kaya kung gagawin man nila yung mga trend na nagcicirculate sa youtube is because para yun sa viewers nila and madalas, nirerequest yun again ng totoong "viewers" nila and hindi lurker lang.

Nalulungkot ako kasi naghahanap ako ng reviews from make-up gurus sana sa new releases ng happy skin at blk cosmetics, pero wala ako nakita. Is it just me or parang madalang na talaga sila mag review ng mga new releases ng make-up at mas focus na sila dun sa mga sponsored lang?
Parang ang busy na nila sa pagvvlog at nakalimutan na nila mag gawa ng make up revies unless sponsored.

^ most probably, hindi nila gagawan ng video yung products, unless x-deal & may bayad hahaha sad na naging ganito mga Youtubers. actually hindi lang local, even international Youtubers ganyan din. money is life nga naman.

Sobrang sponsored na ng mga vlogs ngayon, it's probably time to have a law passed on ads/sponsorships like in the US na they need to disclose it. Otherwise, it's duping the viewers.

Si Rei Germar every vid may sponsored content at mga 5mins yata yon out of her 15min vlog siguro. Nakakaumay. At swerte din niya na palagi siyang "invited" sa mga resorts so they are probably sponsored as well.

Saw Isha's vlog sa inflatable island, may sponsored portion din siya about sunblock, "eto maganda talaga to kasi mapoprotect niya ang ating balat" da f*ck hahahahahaha malamang sunblock nga e

True. Matagal ko nang naiisip yan. Are these people paying their fair share of Income Tax?

Good point. In a way, the influencers are also being influenced by their viewers.  So there is really no point to call many of these youtubers as "influencers"?

All I can say to that freeloading and entitled "influencer" is BUTI NGA.

I only watch Ayn Bernos and Lou Sanchez these days. Kaumay na lahat ng local YT-ers na pare-pareho content.

Totally agree. These people are just advertisers and promoters of conspicuous consumption and crass materialism.

Well pera lang naman habol nila sa Youtube. And these people correlate the money that they are getting as a blessing from God. Anak ng tinapa, e kung si Satanas pala ang nagpapayaman sa kanila?  Puro materialism and pino-promote ng mga taong eto.
