Contraceptive Pills for Breastfeeding Moms

Hi sissies! Anyone here who knows if it?s okay to take contraceptive pills while you?re ebf?
I was told na pwede naman daw pero may brand of pills na pwede. I hope you can share yours mga sis! 😊

^rule of thumb in ebf: lahat ng kainin/inumin mo masisipsip ng baby mo na dumedede ng gatas sa suso mo. So kung iinom ka ng pills, masisipsip din yan ng anak mo at may effect yan sa devt growth nya.. Better consult your baby's pedia or your ob/gyne bago ka magpills..

Hi sis. Always best to consult your OB before taking anything, tama ka there are certain brands/hormone combination na hindi pwede for breastfeeding mommies.

As for me, I consulted my OB when my daughter was 7 months old, I was exclusively breastfeeding then. She prescribed Exluton, safe for breastfeeding. I've been taking that since January 2017, and so far okay naman sya -- no side effects, hindi rin nag drop ang supply ko. I stopped breastfeeding na recently and OB suggested na icontinue ko lang si Exluton since pwede rin sya kahit di na ko nagpapadede.

Also sis add ko na rin, sabi ni OB, if exclusively breastfeeding pa and not more than 4 hours ang interval ng feedings ni baby and hindi ka pa nagkaka mens since you gave birth, no need for alternative contraception because of lactation amenorrhea. So technically infertile pa since mataas pa ang prolactin levels.

Hi sis Simang! How much yung excluton? Meron ba sa mercury drug stores nun? 1 year old na si baby ko eh. We?re still ebf. Kaya I think need ko na magpills.

^sis that's not medical advice ah, i suggest consult ka rin muna sa OB mo. When OB recommended that to me considered lahat ng medical history ko sa kanya so I can't say good rin sya for you. Shinare ko lang what i'm using. So please talk to your OB first

Grabe mga sis, na out of stock ang gracial pills kaya nakaka badtrip kasi hiyang na ako sa kanya.

May alam ba kayo na alternative?

Saka aware ba kayo na pawala na mga pills kasi dahil sa TRO na binaba ng supreme court kaya hindi makapag renew ang mga manufacturers ng license to distribute.. kaya paubos na sila sa mga shelves..
