How to deal with a friend's pet?

Hello Mods and Sissies, I am not sure where to post this so please let me know if I'm in the wrong board and/or if I should repost somewhere else.

I live in the US and one of my good friends has a service dog -- an adorable bulldog. I love my friend deadly and I love her dog just the same. My husband and I often host dinner parties at our home and invite our friends over. Last week, my husband replaced our couch with a new one -- a lovely plush velvet couch. So husband asked me that he doesn't want to have the dog over our couch now. I understand husband and can respect his wishes. But I'm not sure how to broach or discuss this with my friend. Or what can I do to avoid a sticky situation between my husband and my friend.

Ayaw naman namin na ang result is not to ever invite her ever anymore.

Baka puede you cover your couch with a big piece of cloth. Or if may time ka patahi ng parang cover for your sofa. Kahit loose fit lang para madali ilagay/tanggal.

Easy to put if your Friend is visiting. Easy to remove din.

^sis super late reply but THANK YOU. Such a simple fix and easy enough, for some reason we didn't think of it right away.

Hubby also thought we can just provide baby wipes and have our friend wipe the pet's paws and belly before walking into our apartment (just as we take off our shoes basically).

We've not invited pet-owner friends yet so let's see.
