Company phone

Hi there!
Is it normal for companies not to provide company phones these days?

Not sure if I?m spoiled lang or what but for the past 20 years, companies I?ve worked for has always provided a phone.
Naiirita lang ako sa new job ko with the Long hours (including weekends) na wala akong company phone and I end up using my personal phone to be more efficient.

I just feel it?s not fair or spoiled lang ako. My manager doesn?t have a phone either kasi mabait sya so I don?t dare request for one din. Pero 1 month in the job parang ang sama sama ng loob ko with this issue.

Lagi ako nagmamadali pasok office only to find out the first meeting in the morning is moved later. Then on weekends, I-email daw ako if sone people are done with their comments so I can start working on my report for submission. Alangan naman nasa house lang ako to check my emails every hour. 😓

I feel I really need to find something else. Haiz.

hindi lahat ng company nagpprovide ng phone. yung iba pa ngang company, personal laptop mo ang gagamitin mo for work purposes e.

sis if your job really demands a phone, you can talk it out with your boss, baka pwede gawan ng arrangements.

Seems like require ka to work (or at least do some checks) during your rest days/outside office hours eh, I think grounds na yun to be provided a company phone.

Yup, hinde lahat ng company nagbibigay ng phone depende din sa type ng work mo.
Never pa ako naissue-han ng mobile phone ever, wala kasing need.
Kahit desk phone nga, yung first year ko lang sa trabaho naexperience na meron,
 for the next 9 years wala akong phone on my desk ( local and abroad).

Or maybe you can ask for mobile allowance.

Never pa din akong na-isshue-han ng company phone na ako lang ang gagamit. Normally there are several mobile company phones in the office tapos dun ka tatawag if it is a business concern.

Pero if walang ganun sa office, they provide mobile allowance para pangbayad sa bill mo sa phone.

Just try to ask for it. One of the things I have learned in my career life is that there is nothing wrong to ask for things that you really need/you think you deserve to have in your employment basta nasa way ng pakikipag-usap mo yan.

Heto nanga, 4 months in the job and my boss insists I synch daw my personal mobile with my office email. Gosh my emails are like several mb dahil sa mga files sent, it will definitely use up my data.

I told him it?s my personal phone
Sabi nya lahat daw sila ganun ang gawa. Para naman sakin I?m using nanga my phone to work at night and wkends without OT, day in day out, communicating with him and the bosses, mukhang kulang pa.

I think it?s abusive.
Naiinis ako. Kasi while I need a job, this is very far from my expectations. This is another US MNC din naman just like my 3 previous companies. All companies I?ve workes for provide phone and lien. May Isa pa nga even my internet bill sila Sumasagot. It?s the nature of our job kasi that somehow they?re bound to ask things to be done during off office hours, or holidays/weekends. M
Una una when this company didn?t provide, I assume I can just shutdown and enjoy my weekends. Wrong pala

4 months in the job, I feel like resigning. Not in my track record kasi lahat ng companies I?ve been with, I usually stay 5-10 years.

Siguro sis if issue sayo ang company phone at di nila kaya iprovide, ask ka na lang ng mobile allowance. If di pa din nila ma-provide, best option is to quit na nga lang. For some siguro mababaw na rason pero if di ka magiging efficient because of this, parang wala din sense na magstay ka pa. Imagine, everytime magwowork ka at gagamitin ang personal phone, mabigat sa loob mo, nakakawalang gana.

When you accepted this offer ba, may na-mention about having a company phone?

When I applied, di ko tinanong kasi naman for 20 yrs, phone has always been provided. Parang kapal ko naman to ask sa interview eh ultimo boss ko pala wala company phone.

Just praying that the next job will be better.
The answer is I will never know unless I start working there.
