Based on experience, which cc is best for first timers?

firt cc ko is hsbc. with credit limit of 25k haha but that was 8 years ago. ok naman HSBC, until now nasa akin pa rin, dami ko na rin napaggamitan kasi local or international, tinatanggap.
what i have now is citibank - never used, BPI gold and Petron - eto na madalas ko gamitin, and BDO Gold - para sa utilities. yung HSBC ko naman, nakakeep lang kasi andun yung pangbayad sa insurance. nagagamit naman lahat para makawaive sa annual fee

Hi sis! First time ko nagka credit card.security bank.for me ok siya kasi may points na pwede mo pang redeem ng rewards.though di ko pa na try mag redeem.magagamit din abroad.i?ll try this july pag nag australia ako. Plus ang bilis na approve! So happy

nag-apply ako ng cc ng citibank simplicity+ online last october 24.. hanggang ngayon walang email. does it mean na declined yung application ko?

^ Nope, may notification ka dapat if that's the case. Check mo again online kung anong status ng application mo, it's indicated there. Baka rin hindi ka nag upload ng copy of your IDs. Just wait for an email or call, they'll be getting in touch with you for sure. I also applied my Citi Simplicity via online.

^^ ako sa mga inapply-an ko dati, d ako nakakareceive ng notif na declined ako. pero may status checker naman and dun ko lang nakikita na d pala ako naqualify. lol ngayon ang dami tumatawag nag aalok ng credit card sakin. mga pakshet kayo, pagkatapos nyo ko decline noon. ngayon na ang dami ko na card, hinahabol nyo ko CHAR!


ako i prefer bdo/bpi card. ang laki ng interest sa citibank, malaki din difference sa international payments ko compared to the 2 other banks. bdo pa may tie up sa sm advantage so madami pts. sa bpi naman ang mura ng currency exchange pag intl purchase ko. citibank, world-renowned lang, mataas interest. if installment, madami na din nag aaccept kasi ng bdo (baka dahil sm).

Mga secured credit cards. May dedicated thread ito rito. OK ito pang build ng credit history. The CL is dependent how much you can deposit.

Otherwise go for mga lower tier credit cards from known banks. Lower Tier means that these the cards with lowest annual fees and low income requirements.

Among the two options above, mas madali ang "secured CC" way.
