Change of Status but not Surname

Hi mga sis!

Question lang po, meron na ba sa inyong nagpalit ng status pero hindi ng surname after marriage?

yung officemate ko and now hiwalay na sila ngayon. haha! wala pa 1 year tumagal marriage nila.


anyway, pwede naman yan. yan din plan ko if magpakasal ako. ang nabasa ko dapat lang lagi ka ready sumagot sa mga magtatanong kung bakit

Hi sis, pwede siya basta pag nagtanong pakita mo yung article about sa family code na hindi compulsory yung pag change ng surname basta status lang, may colleague ako ganito ginawa kasi nga para maintain din sa PRC license. Alam mo naman madami hindi aware na pwedeng status lang palitan

Yes pwede yan. Ganyan din ako first few years of our marriage. I was working in Malaysia that time and all my documents, work visa, passport, office accounts, etc lahat maiden name ko. When i got married, ang hassle masyado asikasuhin lahat so i just kept it that way.
I only changed it when i have to renew my passport na.

if with kids na, hindi ba nagkakaproblema kapag nagttravel if iba surname ng kids? Parang ayoko kasi magpalit nag surname. hehe

^Walang problem naman but you have to have the kid's birth certificate and your marriage certificate with you when you travel. Yun lang naman usually ang hinihingi if iba ang last name ng mom sa bata.

pwede naman kaso you can hypenate na lang gawin mo.. that's what I do.

ako pag nagpakasal na, i also want to keep my surname, as in walang hyphen.  naiintindihan naman ni hubby to be. di kasi kagandahan ang surname nya (sorry mababaw) at sya mismo agrees.  hahahaha.  sabi ko naman, it doesn't mean i love him any less and hindi ako magpapasakop.

I've been married for 10 years now.  I did not change my surname.  When i fill out forms, i check the married part.  I've never had any problem even when applying visas or when travelling.  It's not anymore unusual not to use your husbands' surname.

Baligtad naman ako. I am divorcing but I won't change it back to my maiden name until I remarry. Gastos lang eh...lol!

I just got married this month and honestly, I don't know where to start. 3 days after ng civil wedding namin ng husband ko, I went back abroad. Kakarenew ko lang din kasi ng PRC license ko last month and yung passport ko last year. I explained this to my husband and he understands naman. Sa facebook lang din ako nagchange ng status ko, haha. I really have no idea saan ako magstart. Last week, my husband asked me why I didn't change my surname in facebook. Nagulat ako kasi hindi ko inexpect na dapat magpalit agad. Haha. Paano ba ginagawa sa facebook yung maiden name then may hyphen then surname ng husband? My current name kasi in facebook is my first name, middle name then father's surname. Gusto ko sana may hyphen para madistinguish na I'm already married. Paano ba yun mga sis? And how did you start processing the change of status and name?

Ok lang yan sis, nakakatamad magpalit lalo na pag bago pa lang i.d mo ako kasi hinintay ko maexpire then tsaka palit. Nung nagwowork pa ako status ko muna pinalitan, first i.d ko na may surname ng husband ko is passport kailangan na niya kasi isama nun, sa fb naman doon sa account setting pwede hyphen.

yun nga mga sis. naiisip ko pa lang, naistress na ko. haha. siguro unahin ko na lang din palitan yung sa passport and the rest eh next year na lang when I go home.

Got married last December 2017, and I plan to use my maiden name.
Except for the updated Postal ID which I need to use my husband's surname (hyphenate) as a requirement to  DTI and Business address.
Madali lang magpalit actually, need lang ng Marriage Certificate.
