^ Di ba Metrophoto ang photog nila Billy and Coleen dun sa Ethiopian shoot? Metrophoto is one of the top wedding photographers in the PH, as far as I know.  If it was a for a tourism campaign, IMO di maganda ang conceptualization kasi parang high-end fashion shoot yung kinalabasan.

That also contradicts with Metrophoto's post here on IG last month: https://www.instagram.com/p/BftJc8AlYMY/?utm_source=ig_embed  and as per caption: "amazingly exotic pre-wedding shoot with Coleen and Billy"  So tourism shoot ba talaga or pre-nup? 

For me, maganda yung photoshoot as an editorial campaign (minus the "props") but as a tourism ad, sobrang fail and not just because of the controversy.  Di ako maeentice pumunta sa Ethiopia kung ganon lang ang photos na makikita ko na 2 taong nagpopose pose and wala anything about nice places to visit in Ethiopia.  Feeling ko lang, palusot lang na tourism photoshoot iyon, because why hire a wedding photographer for a tourism photoshoot. But the couple already apologized so whatevs.

Geez agree with the comments here.... pinoys have a way of finding something negative to comment about with everything. Obviously they wouldn't hold a shoot with a bad purpose in mind, who would?! They mentioned that they were styled for a fashion shoot, and that is what really reflected in the photos. I'm not sure how to merge that with it being a prenup shoot or a tourism shoot, but as a fashion shoot/ editorial it really makes sense. Nothing offensive in my opinion. Baka it wasn't meant to be a prenup but since they're engaged nagkataon sa timing and it was interpreted as one of their prenups anyway. In any case parang nalugi lang si Ethiopian Airlines kasi mas fashion editorial sya than tourism ad lol.

Palusot na nga lang yung "tourism purpose" kasi kung pang tourism yun ang kukuhanan eh kung gaano kaganda ang lugar at ang scenery.

Masyado mang OA ang nag sasabi na na offend sila, I think may karapatan sila to air their opinion since na publish publicly ang photos.

Kanya kanya lang talagang respetuhan ng Opinion.

Ang hindi ko ma take yung bashers talaga...Yung madudumi at bastos talaga ang bibig. Nakaka rindi, dapat sa mga yan pinuputulan ng internet.

Billy is for Coleen just like Nikki Gil is for BJ Albert.. Maka move on na sana mga haters.

I also don't find anything offensive with Billy and Coleen's photoshoot so I don't get where all those hate are coming from. Like what's been mentioned in one of those FB posts, it's not as if the locals were forced nor dragged to join the shoot.

Super like ko ang comment ni Bella Sa basher nya about racist na yan dahil connected kina Billy/Coleen. Naniniwala ako sa sinabi nya kung talaga happy at contento ka sa buhay mo hindi mo masyadong makikita ang puro negative sa ibang tao.  Maka comment naman ang iba lalayo pa sila. Daming nga racist na sa atin pagdating sa mga igorot/aeta/mangyan.

Objectively -- hindi nga sinasadya or meant na maging offensive [textspeak!] shoot. Kaso we live in a world where OPTICS mean more than INTENTION. The message is interpreted with the medium. In the context of the shoot, yung photographer and artists ang may hawak ng medium and can interpret the message. Sila rin ang mas educated and knowledgeable compared sa mga locals na nandun. So sila ang may advantage. They should have used that advantage, AKA privilege, responsibly. But they didn't. Hence the backlash.

So ang dating, they took advantage of the naivete and ignorance of the people who were in the area. Alam nila how they will portray the pictures, the images. The kids and locals did not, curious lang sila so they were inquisitive when there were foreigners there. Silent victims.

Ignorance is not an excuse. Lalo pa the Metrophot team, Billy and Colleen, they are educated naman diba? They are not repressed. They are privileged. They know the state of the country (Ethiopia) and the plight of the locals there. Instead of using their privilege to do something right, they did not. Hence a lot of people did not find it in good taste at all.

I don't have any feelings for Billy and Coleen's shoot but I understand why a lot of people are reacting. Culture has always been a subjective topic which means that what's offensive to me may be completely innocent to some. But there are social ethics that govern every culture. I think these people who were offended just expected more cultural sensitivity from the couple/Metro mag team.

San part nagtake advantage? Were the locals exploited in a way kasi hinde nila alam para san ang shoot?
Yung theme ba ng shoot should be different, mga suot nila?
Ano yung pwedeng ginawang different ng team as they are educated and privileged ones here.
Insensitive lang ba ako sa culture ng iba? 

Nababasa ko kasi sa comments sa fb like kita sa pic yung agwat ng poor at rich, pero in my eyes, hinde naman ganun, I see beautiful people, the couple and the locals.

pero pinakanatatawa ako sa comment wala silang makitang 'love' between the couple (mas alam pa nila eh)  lols

The fact na tinanggal na nina Billy and Coleen and team ang photos, ibig sabihin they recognized that somewhat the photos were insensitive.

Kudos to them. May respeto sila sa feelings ng mga na offend.

Buti pa sila, nirerespeto nila ang opinion ng ibang tao.

Naintindihan ko kung bakit na offend ang iba.

Imagine nga naman, a rich filipino couple doing prenup, sa slum area dito sa Pinas, tapos with no interaction at all sa mga tao na nasa slums at ginawa lang silang background, eh nakaka offend naman talaga.

The photos kasi eh malungkot ang locals na nasa photos.. kung naka smile sila and happy for the couple while having interaction with them, malamang walang na offend.
