^for tours in Taiwan, highly recommended ko itong guy na nakuha namin on our New Year trip. His name is Timo Hsu [FB: Che-chen Hsu (Timo)], taxi and tour operator talaga sya sa Taiwan ang sasakyan nya is Toyota Wish. Price is NTD3500 for 8H tour within Taiwan. Four kami in the family and ang included is Yehliu Geopark, Shifen Waterfall and Shifen Lantern, Yinyang Sea, Golden Waterfall, Jiufen Old Stress and night market). Medyo standard naman yang rate na yan sa iba pang taxi drivers but the best part is he is a good english speaker unlike other tour drivers so communication is not a problem. And also he has his DLSR parang may photographer kang kasama on your trip. Then he will send your pics sa FB after ng tour nyo. We also hired him sa paghatid sa amin going back to the airport and mas discounted pa. 4th time ko na in Taiwan last week, enjoy ko pa rin siya hahaha I guess this time around, friends kasama ko, so parang bago ulit.

We hired a pinoy (chinoy?) driver to take us to Yehliu, Shifen, Jiufen. May side trip din na outlet sa Niehu (which was okay lang). 6000TWD for the 6 of us, okay na siya since from Airport kami sinundo, tapos diretso na kami sa Yehliu. Sobrang nice pa na nagtatagalog si kuya hahaha Ang dali kausapin lol.

I suggest mag-rent na lang kayo ng sasakyan. Yung sa kkday kasi is may oras /minutes lang yung per area. nung solo trip nga ako nagmamadali ako sa yehliu para mapuntahan ko lahat..napagod rin ako paano pa kaya yung mga seniors.

I joined a yehliu-jiufen-shifen group tour 1st week of march 2018. Kaso sa klook and not sa kkday ako nagbook. Solo trip ako nuon pero yung katabi ko sa bus 85 year old lola na hong kong citizen.

kayang kaya ng seniors yang places na yan. may konting stairs sa jiufen pero maigsi lang.

Try in Ximending. Very lively kapag umaga and even gabi. Dami food and binebenta sa kalye. For me, may vibe sya ng Meyongdong ng Seoul and Akihabara ng Tokyo. hehe

Arrive kami ng 6pm ng gabi. Kaya sakto na sa Night Market

**Update: booked Via Hotel. Pati Airport transfer sa kanila ko na rin kinuha. Booked it Thursday night then Friday night I asked for change of dates. Sabi sa reservation policy no cancellation pero waive nila yun sakin. We had last minute change of flight schedule kasi. Buti talaga considerate sila. $169 for 2nights 3days... airport pick up is NTD1200

Ay wow! Yan din binook ko kor our upcoming Taiwan trip sa April 26 with my parents. Kelan nga kayo? Balitaan mo ko if how's the hotel ha. hehe.

Yung trip namin from 2nights naging 4nights... we fly standby and we didnt know na holiday dito, super long weekend nila... fully booked na si Via Hotel Ximen kaya di kami maextend.... tinulungan kami ng hotel staff to call their branches and we transferred to Via Hotel Loft. Mas malayo sa lahat like night markets and MRT. Pero mas convenient for us kasi nagu-uber kami instead of taxi. .. they gave us discount and nagdowngrade ako ng Standard Double from DeLuxe Double cost us $140 for 2nights. Maganda yun room location, nasa 2/F lang same level ng Reception and likod ng Snacks section.

Via Hotel eh free snacks 24hrs. May overflowing coffee, soda and juice. Not typical breakfast pero may sandwich, breads and mga jams and butter na. Dampot ka lang for some snacks an you can carry around. Kaya nakatipid kami sa water and drinks din, we just carry yun bottled water from the snacks section.

I find Via Hotel Loft cleaner and quieter from Via Hotel Ximen. Pero mas gusto ng husband ko sa Ximen branch kasi nga naman pagbaba mo eh andun ka na sa night market. Food is everywhere, MRT eh isang tumbling lang.

Naubusan na din kami ng NTD. Buti magaling yun staff ni Via Hotel Ximen. Alam nya na meron machine sa 7eleven.. Madami 7eleven kaya binilugan nya sa map. Pag galing ka Ximending MRT exit 6 station, sa kabila ng kalsada may Police Station, tatawid kayo then lakad diretso lang. Yun next stoplight may 7eleven sa kaliwa, sa loob meron machine na nagpapalit ng NTD.

Ang hirap wala money changer everywhere,unlike pinas or Singapore. Banks lang daw at dept store. At control ng government. So either papalit na talaga sa airport or kung kaya nyo umabot sa bank. Or department store.

Yun corner ng via hotel ximen na nagbebenta ng bags Uma Hana eh tumanggap ng USD. Kinonvert nila ng current conversion sa google. Kaya nakabili kami ng bags and wallets.

We also took Uber from Ruifung to Shifen. Di kami nakasakay ng Train kasi sobra puno.... overloaded eh may bata kami. Cost us 350NTD. So naisip namin nun pabalik na kami ng hotel from Shifen, check ang Uber ulit, 900NTD pabalik di na kami nagtren. Nakasave ng oras at comfy kami ng bata....

be careful lang sisses, a friend of a friend was off-loaded in Taiwan Immigration. she's a solo traveller and also her first time out of the country trip. not sure and reason was not disclosed but feeling daw nga baka akala into prosti sya bilang solo lang sya nag-travel though maayos naman damit daw nya.

muntik na rin ma offload kasi ndi mukang may work na yung sis ko noon. Mukha siyang highschool student lang. Yun daw kasi usually dinadala na prosti sa taiwan. Good thing may visa pa noon. At dala niya lahat ng documents niya. coe, ids, passport, bank statetment etc. At kasama niya rin kami nung time na yun so tumigil kaka interrogate yung immigration nung pinuntahan namin siya
