^Hahaha oo may pagka masokista ako minsan at mataas ang pride.

One day marerealize din nya kung ano yung mga sinayang nya, hopefully before it's too late.

As many have said, online man o hindi. You really need luck and God?s grace!

For me looking for the right guy is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Marami Kung sa marami but Hindi madali to find the right one for you. I still see this as a slimmer chance than winning a Lotto.

:( pero I guess ganun talaga. I agree sa luck and God's grace

@itsmeangel and @nerddict ok lang yan just live your lives and enjoy being single. may darating when you least expect it. date lang ng date pag may nag ask and don't be scared to take a chance on someone. you can look at life two ways glass half full or glass half empty your choice.

i'm single too but i choose to live a fruitful and meaningful life kahit ako lang mag isa. maybe i will end up with someone or maybe i won't but one thing is for sure when i'm old and grey i will travel the world on first class and in style. i will live on a penthouse and drive a rolls royce. i want to live the good life if there is a man at the end of it who knows and frankly i could care less. i know sounds materialistic coz we are all hopeless romantic deep down but what can we really do? if destiny wills it it will happen.

honestly for me that is better than the alternative, to be an old single woman who is also poor right? sorry kung nega ito or morbid to some, but i am just being realistic and practical. i know not everyone will agree with me though.

^His eyes were more blue when he was born but changed after two years. It's now kind of mix between blue and my brown eyes. It's not exactly hazel, but it looks greenish na light brown na bluish tint na ewan. Whenever I fill-up some form for him asking about his eyes, light brown na lang nilalagay ko coz we can't figure it out. He is really 50% Pinoy, 50% White. Skin, hair, eyes...everything.

Work and enjoy the success and fruits of our labour without the guilt of not having a man to validate our happiness. If he comes, then good. If he doesn't, no big deal!

THIS.

@apple1230: Dapat naman talaga ganyan ang mindset. Work and enjoy the success and fruits of our labour without the guilt of not having a man to validate our happiness. If he comes, then good. If he doesn't, no big deal!

AND THIS.

Women who empower themselves are really happier, sexier women. We need more of this. That was my mindset when i was single, not necessarily the financial part, but that I'd be happy with my life outcome regardless of a partner or not. I think having a partner makes life easier in some ways, although it comes with a price too. There's PLENTY of reason to be happy and fulfilled, with or without a partner.

How I wish sa Pinoy society they really teach and ingrain that life is a personal journey, how you come out of it, partnered or not, is YOUR choice, and happiness is probably the highest score for a wonderful journey.

This might be an unpopular opinon but happiness with yourself is sooo sexy, it attracts others (suitors) or also deters others (intimidated suitors). At the end of the day, the only assurance you have is YOURSELF, happiness with yourself, in your journey. Kahit married nga, pwede maghiwalay... so i think super important yang sinabi nyo sisses, na PERSONAL HAPPINESS talaga.
I mean it may be financial, monetary successes that make you happy, it does not matter. Basta HAPPINESS at the end of the journey, whatever it might be and as long as it does not do harm unto others.

Spread and share the happiness sisters...

@kvandenhaak your son i very handsome. ok talaga pag may mix ng pinoy/pinay blood laging maganda yung combination kahit anong lahi ang mahalo.

@lalee888 i don't know medyo backwards pa din tayo dito. para bang our self worth is defined by our relationship. pag single ka invisible or worthless ka sa society yun ang feeling ng most pinays. umiikot ang mundo at nag sasayang ng oras sa paghahanap ng love at na ne-neglect na yung ibang aspects of life. i was guilty of this rin in the past so i cannot blame them.

but i grew out of it and i focused on my career. the higher i go the more i felt anything in life is possible financially. na expose rin ako sa lifestyle ng mga mayayaman, some became my closest friends so dun din ako nag start mag dream na i will be like that someday. sabi nga mangangarap ka rin lang taasan mo na. so my aim in life is very high, i'm probably shooting for the moon but who knows maybe i just might get it.

not all girls will have that desire but i hope all girls will know the value of being strong and independent, to aim for success in life para kung mag asawa sila may ma contribute sa family. madami rin kasi naghahanap lang ng asawa na re-rescue sa kanila or ang iniisip pag nag asawa gaganda na ang buhay nila finally. but that's an entirely new topic OT na. ;D

^To stay on topic I will focus on what you said sis:

.....but i hope all girls will know the value of being strong and independent, to aim for success in life para kung mag asawa sila may ma contribute sa family. madami rin kasi naghahanap lang ng asawa na re-rescue sa kanila or ang iniisip pag nag asawa gaganda na ang buhay nila finally. but that's an entirely new topic OT na. ;D

Yes. We are all independent beings and being the best version of ourselves is the best thing we can do while dating (since online dating ang topic). This will ensure solid, stable relationships..

To your other points sis, marami ako masasabi jan (the change should be society as a whole, from birth of children pa lang) but avoiding talking about it para sa sake ng topic : )

Agree ako sa opinion nyo about being single but sad to say sa pinas hindi pa recognized ang mga single as successful in life.

I personally know two people. Different situations. Both involved in online dating:

One is our former co-worker. She's past 50, married for 25 years or so to his second husband but divorced. Found a guy online. And I would say it's pretty quick. She's lazy. Doesn't have that much experience working. She liked being looked after. She just can't afford her lifestyle so she married a guy she didn't really like. She said that her past marriage is an abusive one. And I can see that it's the same story with her 3rd marriage because she's a kept woman. It's a shame!

A friend of mine. Thirty seven years old and looking for a husband. Working as a nursing aid here in Canada, so she's not living paycheque to paycheque.  I think the pressure of having a child is catching up on her. When say she should just relax and enjoy being single and dating life, kesyo may anak na raw kasi ako so I have the luxury of not being bothered by my biological clock. I understand her concerns.

I am in neither situation but if I have to choose, dun na ako of course sa single at may pera. Besides, I think men would rather choose someone who are independent at alam nilang hindi pera lang ang habol sa kanila.

Indeed, sad to say that Pinoy mentality has not caught up with the times/progress of the west. To be fair though, if you look at it in terms of the development index, 3rd world ang Pilipinas. So I can see why its progressive culture and thinking will also be behind those of developed countries.

We can't control these larger forces, but individually you can influence your micro-surroundings. Go on a personal zen-mode and focus on your true happiness; you may not be able to influence the thinking/mentality of everyone around you, but you can kill them with kindness and show them how blissfully happy and content you are to be winning at life solo and happy.

I have said this before but will mention it again... our life journey is like the seasons.. our priorities change with each season. The only thing constant is personal satisfaction. So if you are at a season where you want kids, then find a man who is also in that season and not one who wants to date a long time muna before settling down. If you don't find a man, then solve your own situation using science, or channel inner peace and acceptance.

I've a friend who is single and picky because she wants the right man that fits/aligns her life journey. She just turned 36 and a lot of people challenge her and tell her to "settle" for one of her suitors. Her response? No. She believes that there is a reason for everything and if the right man comes and she/they can not bear children, then they can adopt or raise children other ways. If that's not an option still, then they would enjoy each other's love.

It was so refreshing to hear that. Nakaka turn-off kaya yung nag-settle for less because of desperation/rush. I know of elderly Pinay women who are so fabulous in their 70s, 60s and 80s -- their relatives love them and they have a zest in life that I don't see in unhappy married women.  Ladies, mas okay na yung mga happy solo flyers than the miserable settlers.

I agree dyan sa mentality na yan ng mga pinoy... to the point na asar na asar na ako sa kanila. I live in the US, working as a nurse, and I?m quite young early 20s ako nagstart... of course sa field ko madaming pinoy talaga. Dumating sa point na asar na asar na ako kasi all they can see sa akin is yung pagging single ko... parang ako, di man lang nila inacknowledge that I have a good career at bata pa ako... ang marrinig ko mostly sa kanila is dapat daw maghanap na ako ng asawa haha! To answer the question sakin, 3 years na ako single and dating haha!

I think that?s in all aspects of life naman not just dating, pag puro fail medyo nakakafrustrate diba :(

Malaking tulong talaga ang online dating for me naka meet ako ng mga tao, it?s just that hindi ko pa lang talaga siguro nammeet ang right one.

^the Pinoy mindset, once you reach 26/27, they will pressure the women to get married. Para bang hopeless case ka na if you are not married by 30. Kaloka.

^cheers and yes mga sis to being independent and happy! Self-love is so beautiful. That's what women should realize, na wag katakutan ang pagiging single. There is so much in store for the single ladies (including me) out there. A plus din siguro ng pagiging independent, those men na weak ang personality against you, won't have the guts and courage to pursue you.

Love love all you independent women! ♥♥♥

i guess we can blame the media here in the phils kasi pare pareho ang theme ng mga palabas puro rich guy fell in love with poor girl. then parating yung poor ang bida. na para bang poverty is a blessing. bakit hindi nila ituro na magsumikap ka then aasenso ka. siguro dahil hindi mag ki-click ang ganung show. filipinos want it easy pag alam nilang mahihirapan sila ayaw na nila kaya wala masyado progress.

i  just recently signed a contract with a client and i will get p100k montly isang client lang siya among many others. pero that will not matter to some for them i'm still inadequate coz i'm single. anyway true madaming single and fab pero ang laging tinatanong may bf ka, married ka? especially with older people. that's all they really care about that you are married and have kids.

para hindi OT, i recently found a new dating site although tinitgnan ko pa kung ano meron sa site na yun i get messages pero parang di ko na tine-take seriously ang mga online dating, parang pampa lipas oras na lang siya or for entertainment purposes.
